PHOTOS: EPCOT’s Entrance Looks VERY Different Today

The EPCOT Transformation is well underway and we’ve already seen some big changes around the park.

EPCOT

The new fountain in front of Spaceship Earth has opened, part of the expanded area for Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure has also become accessible, and we’ve seen construction progressing on the new nighttime spectacular, the Guardians of the Galaxy ride, and more. And now, we’ve gotten a first look at a part of EPCOT’s past that’s been totally reimagined — Leave A Legacy!

The giant Leave A Legacy monoliths used to welcome guests as they entered the park. Guests used to be able to purchase the ability to take a photo and have that photo etched onto panels placed on these monoliths. Then, guests could come back year after year and search for their photos on the panels. Even celebrities like *NSYNC had their own spot on these panels.

But, as part of the EPCOT transformation, these monoliths were removed from the front of the park. Disney had shared, however, that the monoliths would eventually be moved to an area just outside of the park’s entrance.

And now we finally got a peek at what this new Leave a Legacy spot will look like! Early today, Disney shared these photos to officially announce that Leave a Legacy has returned to EPCOT. But, not only has it returned — it has been beautifully reimagined. The photos are no longer displayed on the classic monoliths. Instead, the photos are now displayed on colorful new numbered panels.

Disney shared that these newly designed panels are just the first of many that will be installed outside of the EPCOT entrance. These are located just outside of where guests scan their tickets or MagicBands to enter the park.

They feature vibrant hues from EPCOT’s new color palette. As Disney has shared, “Along with the fresh look for Leave A Legacy, the beautiful fountain and gleaming pylons further illustrate the park’s transformation and the magic of possibility.”

Earlier today, Imagineer Zach Riddley also shared a peek at the Cast Members working on this new display through Instagram. According to Riddley, more panels will be installed this week!

If you’re looking for your Leave A Legacy tile at the new location, you’ll be able to use your phone or other smart device to scan a QR code there. This then opens up a tile finder search feature, which you can use to get the coordinates to a specific tile’s location. You can also ask the EPCOT Guest Relations team for assistance.

We’re heading to EPCOT now to see these redesigned panels for ourselves and we’ll share a first look at them with you once we arrive! So be on the lookout for another post from us on that.
