Over the past few months, quite a few changes have been made when it comes to Disney World transportation — including the monorails.
Capacity in the monorails is now limited, there are vinyl barriers between some of the sections, and distancing barriers have been added to the rows on some of the monorails to help increase capacity. For a while, Monorail Red has been out for refurbishment, but today it was BACK with a new look! Join us for a full look at that this monorail looks like now and what distancing measures it’s using.
Monorail Red is back! We were able to spot this monorail and hop inside today. On the outside, you’ll notice that there’s a bright red stripe going across the monorail that is outlined in black with some black details under some of the windows.
Inside, the back walls of the monorail are now a vibrant red color.
On the back wall, it says “Monorail Red” and Walt Disney World Monorail System.
Those words are surrounded by the retro-style Walt Disney World “D” logo with Mickey Mouse inside.
Along the back wall, there is also a fire extinguisher…
…and emergency intercom.
On Monorail Red, we also found vinyl dividers to separate those sections that previously used to be open to one another.
There were also distancing barriers in the rows, just like we’ve seen on some of the other monorails. The seating on the monorail is also now silver/gray in color.
Overall, the design is very similar to what we’ve seen on the other remodeled monorails like Monorail Peach, Monorail Green, and others. And now, if you’re hoping on a monorail in Disney World, you just might get the chance to board the refurbished Monorail Red. We’ll be on the lookout for other changes in Disney’s transportation and let you know what we see.
