PHOTOS: See Disney World’s Star Wars Hotel from the Sky!

We’ve been keeping a very close eye on all of the construction going on at Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser (a.k.a. the Star Wars Hotel).

Model of the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser Halcyon — see the size relative to the Millennium Falcon!

So far, we’ve gotten a look at it from the ground and seen some pics from the inside, but now we’ve gotten an updated look at the project…from the sky!

We’ve seen real windows go up at the Star Wars hotel (although guests are supposed to really look out into “space”). But now we’ve got an amazing view of the entire project from up above thanks to some awesome photos posted by Bioreconstruct on Twitter.

In the photo below, you can see the paths for cars surrounding the hotel that lead to the drop-off area. Compared to when we saw aerial photos back in November, and even compared to the look we got in December, things seem to be a bit more set up in terms of the roads, the paths, and other areas around the buildings. The progress doesn’t seem to be dramatic as far as we can see from the outside, but you can tell a few more paths have ben finished, some construction barriers appear to have been removed, and other areas in the back have been a bit more built up.

For reference, here’s concept art of what that drop-off area is meant to look like.

There appears to be a large, central building connected to the drop-off area which is where we expect the Atrium, the Bridge, and other central guest areas will likely be. In the back is the longer building with windows. We expect this is where all or most of the guest cabins will be located.

Overall, from the exterior, it does look like the project is really moving along.

When it’s all complete, this immersive resort will be an interactive, two-night experience that will transport guests to a galaxy far, far away. Even though we call it a “hotel” it’s really not just a hotel. Think more along the lines of a cruise. During your stay, you’ll get the chance to train with a lightsaber, interact with your favorite Star Wars characters, and even operate some of the ship’s defense systems.

You’ll also able to grab a refreshment at The Silver C Lounge and possibly take a ride to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge for more adventures.

The Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser experience is set to open in Disney World in 2021. We’re on the lookout for more updates and we’ll let you know what we see.
