Disney has declared February as Valentine’s Day Month in its description of the subject of this review. The Valentine Cupcake available at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is available “Valentine’s Day Month” at Restaurantosaurus and Flame Tree Barbecue via mobile ordering.

This one’s for the chocolate cake lovers out there. This Valentine Cupcake is chocolate cake with milk chocolate ganache filling, vanilla buttercream, and a white chocolate coin featuring Nala and Simba. It would satisfy anyone’s chocolate craving.

There is lots of vanilla buttercream frosting on top. It is a little top heavy, but if you love frosting you’ll be happy. Most of the time we receive our cupcakes from Disney cold since Disney keeps them in a chiller. It’s a good idea to let the cupcakes soften before you dig in so they can regain some moisture. But waiting is not easy.

Lately most cupcakes at Disney do not have enough filling in them, and this Valentine Cupcake was no exception. Overall, it was a tasty sweet treat, and good, but nothing outstanding. For something more impressive for Valentine’s Day, consider the Strawberry Shortcake Ice Cream Sandwich.
