We Can’t Stop LOLing at YOUR Favorite Characters as Disney Rides

We’ve got a FUN one for you today.

Tower of Terror

If your favorite Disney character was an attraction, which one would they be? Funny you ask, because we’ve been wondering, too! We feel like we’ve gotten to know them pretty well through interactions and random sightings around the parks, but we trusted YOU, our DFB readers, with this mission. So we asked you on Instagram to compare your favorite characters to Disney World rides! Here’s what you said.

Our first ride is Dinosaur! A reader said this classic Animal Kingdom attraction “is Rex’s aspiration, but not his reality.” That made us laugh, but we also feel a little bad for him. Poor guy just wants to be a tough dino!

Dinosaur

Okay, now let’s head over to Magic Kingdom. We got TWO character comparisons to the Jungle Cruise! One reader said this attraction was just like Marlin from Finding Nemo because “talk about dad jokes much.” We love the puns, but occasionally they can get a little cringeworthy.

Jungle Cruise

Another reader went with a bit of a different angle. As they put it, “Gaston would be Jungle Cruise. Looks so beautiful on the outside but filled with a lot of hot air! ” We can TOTALLY see both of these! In a battle for the Jungle Cruise, who would you pick?

Gaston

Next, we hopped a few lands over to the PeopleMover. It may be down for refurbishment, but that didn’t stop it from getting picked on! A reader said this classic attraction is like Sleeping Beauty because “it puts you to sleep.” OUCH. While this ride may be a good place to nap, we’ve got a major soft spot for our beloved highway in the sky.

Speaking of picking on rides…a reader compared “it’s a small world” to Dory “because she’s saying the same thing over and over.” That’s fair — we bet she would fit right into this attraction! She would definitely sing “Just Keep Swimming” instead of the classic song, though.

“it’s a small world”

In EPCOT, we got a pretty solid comparison to Soarin’: Jasmine and Aladdin! Our reader said the ride and characters both “show you the world shining, shimmering, splendid.” Not only is this SO accurate, but now we’ll have A Whole New World stuck in our head for days. Thanks for that one!

Soarin’

Meanwhile, a reader compared Lotso Bear from Toy Story to Mission: SPACE! As they put it, both are “two-sided, and one of them is terrifying.” Yikes! Maybe we’ll stay away from both of these.

Mission: SPACE

Have you ever thought of this one? Yzma from The Emperor’s New Groove could totally be the Tower of Terror! We can already picture her yelling “wrong lever!” as we plummet down 13 stories.

And lastly, the most disappointing ride of all…the Magical Express back to the airport after a GREAT vacation. A reader compared this attraction (the Tragical Express, we might venture to say) to Sadness from Inside Out. Yup, we’re really feeling that one.

Magical Express

What do you think about all these comparisons? Are there any you would add? We laughed pretty hard reading through these, and they made us think about our favorite attractions in a brand-new way! As always, stay tuned to DFB for more Disney news.
