It’s a beautiful day in Orlando to welcome back the Liberty Belle Riverboat and the classic attraction, Tom Sawyer Island. We’re in the Magic Kingdom today to see “hello” to these classic experiences. Both have physically distancing practices in place. Let’s take a look.

Liberty Belle Riverboat affords views of The Haunted Mansion and Big Thunder Mountain you can’t find anywhere else in the park. And the relaxing, slow-paced movement of the riverboat is a great way to breakaway from the hustle and bustle of the busiest theme park in the world. There are physical distancing markers on the boat and each party is asked to remain on their spot. This means, unfortunately, that guests can no longer stroll around the riverboat as they wish to get different views, but safety first!

Tom Sawyer Island reopened today after being closed for a few months. This is a great spot in the park to explore whether you have kids or just a bunch of kids at heart. To get to the island you’ll need to take a raft, and there are distancing markers on the raft.

Not everything was made new again during the refurbishment, however. The vending machines were not functioning, the Barrel Bridge is not in place at all, and Fort Langhorn is not open. Fun fact, Fort Langhorn is a tribute to Mark Twain’s real name: Samuel Langhorn Clemens. The playground area on the island is not currently open, but the picnic table area is.
