There are TONS of Disney movies that are represented with their own attractions in the Disney Parks.
But have you ever wished for an attraction based on that one movie that you LOVE even though it’s underrated? Well, we asked YOU, our readers, to tell us which Disney movies deserve their own attractions!
We put together a list of the most popular answers we got from our recent Instagram poll, and we have to say, we agree with a LOT of them. Disney, please give these movies some more love in the parks!
Tangled
By FAR, the most popular answer was Tangled! A lot of you said that the bathrooms are nice, but they are not enough, and like yeah, girl totally deserves more than a couple of toilets. They are some of the most gorgeous bathrooms on property, but not exactly the thing you go to a Disney park for!
One reader mentioned a slow-moving boat ride that ends with the floating lanterns, and we haven’t stopped thinking about it since. Kinda sounds similar to the Tangled attraction in Shanghai. Who doesn’t want to follow along with Rapunzel on the BEST. DAY. EVER?! The Germany pavilion was originally supposed to have a boat ride, but it never happened. Now’s their chance! We love the bathrooms Disney, but as our readers put it, it’s not enough!
Coco
Coco was just about tied with Tangled for the most votes! This Pixar movie used to be represented in the parks when Mariachi Cobre presented The Story of Coco in EPCOT’s Mexico pavilion, but currently, that show is unavailable.
Several readers said that Coco should replace the Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Cabelleros. And we’re not gonna lie Grand Fiesta tour has been struggling lately. For quite a few weeks now, the Three Caballeros animatronics saga has continued to flourish. Starting out with a plant replacing Donald Duck, we are now to the point of cardboard cutouts of ALL three characters! We would love to see more Coco love in the parks for sure!
Big Hero 6
Another underrated movie that got lots of love in the responses was Big Hero 6. We are SO down for Baymax to take us on a tour of San Fransokyo with the whole gang.
There are many events in this movie, so Disney could go in so many directions with an attraction based on this film. It could focus on Baymax, and we could create our own journey with him, or it could be a thrill ride with Callaghan chasing us with microbots! The possibilities are endless. And other Disney parks have Big Hero 6 attractions, so we know it’s possible!!
Up
There’s no doubt that Up is a heartwarming movie, and would make an incredible attraction. Recently, we’ve seen a lot of merchandise from the movie, so it’s got to be on Disney’s radar.
There are so many ways to go with this one! It could be a sweet dark ride that takes guests through different scenes in the movie, or something more adventurous like flying in Carl’s house. No matter what this attraction would be, we would need to bring tissues. Anyone else tear up just listening to Carl and Ellie’s theme? Just us?
WALL-E
Ok, hear us out. When several readers pointed out this movie, all we could think was that a WALL-E attraction would fit PERFECTLY in The Land Pavilion in EPCOT.
The film is all about taking care of the planet, and what better place to have it than next to Living With the Land? Plus, you can’t deny how adorable WALL-E and EVE are. Maybe one day we’ll see this become a reality!
Moana
We also saw the movie Moana a lot in your responses. Luckily, this Disney princess film is getting its own attraction in EPCOT!
Coming to EPCOT, the Journey of Water attraction will allow guests to follow an exploration trail and interact with several water features. Guests will also learn about the importance of the water cycle, and the story of Moana will be a part of that! There isn’t much information on when this attraction will open, but there IS a Moana attraction on its way!
Learn more about the upcoming Moana attraction here!
Mary Poppins
Readers also mentioned Mary Poppins! Well…Disney announced a Mary Poppins-based attraction back in 2019. However, it has since been taken out of the EPCOT Experience, which showcases all of the new experiences coming after the EPCOT transformation.
Disney announced in September that the Mary Poppins attraction (as well as the Spaceship Earth refurbishment) would be postponed. Disney did not give a timeline for how long we’ll be waiting on this attraction. Hopefully, we’ll get to walk down Cherry Tree Lane with Mary and Bert, and tour the Banks’ house one day!
This is the TOUGHEST Disney Question We’ve EVER Asked! How Would You Have Answered?
We love hearing from our readers and your responses bring us so much joy. Who knows, maybe we will be experiencing some of these rides in the parks one day? Wouldn’t that be cool?!
