No with that being said, here is our list of 3 things you can do in Downtown Winter Garden.
1. MAIN STREET
To begin your journey exploring Downtown Winter Garden, it’s essential that you start with Main Street. When you first get on Main Street it’s almost as if you’re in a Northern Town, and you’re not in Florida anymore. Located all the way down the street you can find a plethora of several restaurants, amazing boutiques to shop at and amazing architecture to observe, there is even a beautiful historic Theatre. The whole community seems very wholesome, with all of the bike riders and warmhearted people wandering around. After observing Main Street, you can find the Plant Street Market which is just a few blocks away, and find some tasty foods. Inside the Plant Street Market, you can find several food and drink stalls as well as a brewery. From the stalls, we decided to pick up a Brisket Sandwich from This Little Piggy and we got Jackson a Kids Mac n Cheese from MACd Out! After eating endless amounts of food from the Plant Street Market we decided to head to our next destination in Downtown Winter Garden.
2. CENTRAL FLORIDA RAILROAD MUSEUM
Second on our list of things to do in Winter Garden, we find ourselves at Central Florida’s Railroad Museum. With free admission from 1 pm to 5 pm, you can learn about how the railroad played an integral part in the city of Winter Garden. The Central Florida Railroad Museum has a wide collection and maintains the preservation of railroad history, with the focus on Central Florida, and the restoration and display of railroad memorabilia. You can observe the vast collection of model trains, uniforms from different train lines, train phones, and so much more! As well as their vast collection, you can also purchase a selection of books, gifts, and model trains! If you love history, the Central Florida Railroad Museum may just be on your list of things to do in Winter Garden as well.
3. EDGEWATER HOTEL
For our final destination we visited in Downtown Winter Garden, we ended our day at the Edgewater Hotel. This isn’t just any specific hotel, this is where Florida’s oldest working elevator is located! We got to take a ride in the elevator and it’s amazing to see how it’s still functioning. The elevator has been around since 1926 and is prominently called the Otis Elevator. Along with the oldest elevator in Florida, you are actually able to stay in this fully functioning hotel. The Edgewater Hotel is a full experience like none other fully equipped with a bed and breakfast. The hotel is located within 30 minutes from Disney World, Universal Studios, and downtown Orlando. At the Edgewater, you can get a full historic stay experience with the modern day 1927 ambiance.
