LOTS of projects are going on in Disney World right now!
And we’re not just talking about the big ones! Sure, TRON Lightcycle Run is exciting, but we’re pretty interested in the little projects on Cinderella Castle, Peter Pan’s Flight, and more. Now, we know about another little project coming to an ICONIC attraction.
Today, Walt Disney Imagineering filed a permit for the Dumbo the Flying Elephant Queue and Interactive Space for work to “manufacture new marquee structure, remove existing and install new.”
This permit is likely referring to the main marquee structure for the Dumbo the Flying Elephant attraction. It sits just outside of the mirrored versions of the ride. While this permit says new, Disney could simply be refurbishing or updating the existing sign. This just shows us that some work is expected to be done on the existing structure.
This isn’t the only Magic Kingdom signage permit we’ve seen recently. A few weeks ago we spotted work filed on Town Square Theatre and just today, we spotted a permit for the sign on Peter Pan’s Flight.
All of these signage projects are being completed by a contractor with a specialty in signs. It’s possible that this work is meant to spruce up these iconic attractions and locations ahead of Disney World’s 50th Anniversary this year.
We’ll be keeping an eye out for the marquee at Dumbo the Flying Elephant to be removed so stay tuned to DFB For the latest updates on this attraction!
