An ICONIC Magic Kingdom Sign Is Getting Some TLC!

Magic Kingdom has some beloved attractions.

Peter Pan’s Flight line

Fantasyland, especially, is home to some iconic favorites. One super popular ride is Peter Pan’s Flight. This attraction has been receiving some mystery updates recently; first hidden behind construction walls and now a GIANT themed scrim. Now, we know a little bit more about the work.

This morning, Walt Disney Imagineering filed a permit for the address coded to Peter Pan’s Flight. The permit calls for work to “remove, refurbish, and reinstall sign.”

Currently, the construction scrim does NOT cover the main Peter Pan’s Flight sign. The permit doesn’t indicate if there’s another sign it’s referencing, so it may be the main signage for the attraction that’s set to get some TLC.

More skrim

We spotted a similar permit for Main Street Town Square Theater a few weeks ago. It was even with the same contractor! Yellow Cone Group, unsurprisingly, has a specialty in signage.

Disney World’s 50th Anniversary is this year and Disney teams have referenced a number of projects to spruce up the theme parks in preparation for the celebration. These sign projects could be a piece of making sure the Magic Kingdom looks spick and span!

We’ll be keeping a close eye on the Peter Pan’s Flight sign for work and on the current construction scrim for any changes. As always, stay tuned to DFB for the latest updates!
