Disneyland Resort has been closed since mid-March 2020 in response to the global health crisis.
While the Disney World parks reopened back in July, Disneyland postponed its previously announced reopening due to guidance and mandates from government and health officials. Downtown Disney has since reopened, as well as Buena Vista Street. And recently Disneyland introduced its “A Touch of Disney” event, which is coming to Disney California Adventure soon. Earlier, we shared that Disney was aiming to reopen Disneyland in late April. But, now Disney has officially announced when its California theme parks will reopen!
Disneyland Reopening Dates
Disney has announced that it is set to officially begin a phased reopening. According to statements made by Disney CEO Bob Chapek on CNBC’s “Squawk Alley” today, Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure will reopen on APRIL 30th, 2021.
Do note, that at this time, Disneyland Resort can only reopen with a 15% capacity and there are other restrictions as well.
Disneyland Resort is set to implement many of the health and safety measures that we’ve already experienced in a reopened Disney World such as a theme park reservation system, limited capacities, heightened cleaning and sanitation, and a mask requirement.
We will continue to update this post with more information as it is announced.
