Dear Disney, Christmas Called. It Wants Your New Drink Back

It seems like just yesterday it was Christmastime in Disney World and we were sipping hot cocoa and snacking on peppermint!

Christmas Tree

Or more aptly, it seems like TODAY, because we literally just had a peppermint drink in Disney World! In the form of a weirdly merry St. Patrick’s Day drink special at Disney Springs! Are you as confused as we are?

Typically, when a drink or a snack is bright green and flecked with peppermint crumbles, we can safely assume it’s a Christmas treat, right? RIGHT?!

As is clearly the case with a March drink special in Disney Springs, the green-tinted line between Christmas and St. Patrick’s Day is much thinner than we thought! The festive drink is the “Peppermint Patti,” and it’s the March special at YeSake, a kiosk that serves up globally-inspired street food with whimsy and pizza innovations!

But did they get a little TOO whimsical with this one? Let’s find out!

Okay, so it’s a green lemonade, whipped cream, and pieces of peppermint bark. There’s a LOT going on here.

The lemonade actually just tastes like super sweet lemonade, which we weren’t big fans of on its own, but the peppermint flavor with the lemonade is a bit jarring. We aren’t sure why anyone would want to drink something tart like lemonade and minty like peppermint, but if that’s your thing, you’ll want to try this.

It’s like drinking lemonade immediately after brushing your teeth, which is not the IDEAL refreshment… . We kept getting tiny peppermint pieces in our sips and it was not very enjoyable.

It’s certainly a bright and colorful drink, and YeSake gets props for their apparent commitment to Christmas (which we fully support), but this one is a tad on the wild side if you’re looking for a more traditional lemonade flavor, or a more traditional minty St. Patrick’s Day snack! You may just wanna stick with a tried-and-true Shamrock Shake.

If you’re curious, you can try one for yourself for $8 at YeSake in Disney Springs!

If you love coffee and St. Patrick’s Day, Disney’s got a new treat for you!
