The past year has been abnormal in a lot of ways.
It was this week last year that much of the country began to shut down with Disney World and Disneyland announcing closures and Broadway shows going dark. Now, Disney has released a comment on the situation with Broadway.
Today is the anniversary of Broadway going dark. In response, Disney on Broadway posted a statement on Instagram honoring artists and audiences and anticipating a return to the stage.
The statement notes, “Thanks for sticking with us — together we will create the magic of live theatre again. We look forward to safely making our way back.”
Disney on Broadway is known for shows such as Aladdin, The Lion King, and Frozen — which played the last show of its premier run one year ago today. Frozen will not reopen when shows return.
As always, stay tuned to DFB for the latest updates about Disney on Broadway and more.
