One of the nicer parts about the past year are companies acceptance of contactless options for using products. Disney has certainly embraced this idea, with the pushing of Mobile Ordering, mobile table service dining check-in, the ability to enter a hotel room with your phone, and more. And later this year, Disney is will be launching a brand new contactless and convenient option.
With Disney MagicMobile, Guests will be able to create a Disney MagicMobile pass through the My Disney Experience app and add it to their smart device’s digital wallet. From there, it will offer the ability to just hold up your smart device near an access point, just like you do with a MagicBand. Disney MagicMobile service and its features will roll out first on Apple devices.
When visiting the Walt Disney World Resort, Guests may choose to use either the Disney MagicMobile service or a MagicBand. They can choose whichever option works best during their visit. You can even use both and alternate between the two for added flexibility.
For now, the existing digital room key feature will continue to be available within the My Disney Experience app, which helps Guests with their arrival by using online check-in service and then being able to go directly to their Disney Resort hotel room, using their phone to unlock their door. Disney Resort hotel guests may also still pick up a Key to the World card at the front desk, if they prefer.
We’ll be sure to share more details about the new Disney MagicMobile service as it’s released.
