If you have tickets to A Touch of Disney and you’ve been hoping to grab a dining reservation for Carthay Circle Lounge Alfresco Dining or Lamplight Lounge…it’s likely been a long morning. Frankly, today made the process of buying tickets to A Touch of Disney look like a walk in the park!
We suspected dining reservations would be a hot commodity since every date of A Touch of Disney is currently sold out, but nothing could prepare us for what actually transpired! Over four HOURS after the virtual queue opened up for dining reservations, we were successful in grabbing a table for Lamplight Lounge! But the way we were able to get a reservation totally took us by surprise!
HUGE shoutout to theme park journalist Carlye Wisel as well as our good friend here at DFB Heather Sievers for filling everyone in on this tip that involves using the Disneyland App! This morning, everyone (including us!) seemed to be under the assumption that the Disneyland App would NOT work when securing a reservation and that you would have to use Disneyland’s actual website.
That created a pretty crowded waiting room, and hours later, we wondered if our browser would ever update. That’s when we learned about this crucial tip. Turns out, you CAN make dining reservations using the Disneyland App! Here’s what you need to do:
Open up the Disneyland App and tap on the magnifying glass icon (Search) at the bottom of the screen. From there, search for “my plans” and select “View My Plans.”
Once you select “View My Plans,” tap on the blue plus symbol and select “Reserve Dining” on the right-hand side. Some people may see a pop-up that will ask to redirect you to Disneyland’s website — ignore the pop-up! Closeout and continue to enter your party size and date.
From there, you can see what restaurants have dining reservations available! We heard that smaller parties of one or two guests may have a harder time finding reservations, but as of this writing, it looks like there are slim pickings for reservations still available.
If you can’t find a reservation for the restaurant you want to visit, keep checking! It’s possible Disney could open up more reservations, and as people change their plans for their visit to A Touch of Disney, it’s also possible additional times may pop up!
You can also check day-of to see if the dining location is accepting Walk-Ups! Best of luck to anyone still looking for dining reservations, and we’ll see you at A Touch of Disney!
