The world is constantly evolving when it comes to handling COVID-19.
And as the rollout of the vaccine continues, more analysis is being done. Disney has set many safety policies and procedures, which are also evolving as the coronavirus situation changes. Soon, there may be a shift in CDC guidelines that could potentially impact Disney’s current distancing requirements.
According to Axios, the CDC is analyzing data that suggests 3 feet is sufficient for social distancing “under certain circumstances.” A study on Massachusetts public schools found “no substantial difference” in COVID-19 cases when comparing a 3-foot social distancing policy with a 6-foot one. The CDC will launch its own study in response to these results.
Dr. Anthony Fauci stated that it “it won’t be very long” before the CDC can adjust official social distancing guidelines — depending on the results of the study.
Changes in these safety guidelines could also affect Disney World’s own social distancing policies, but there has been no indication yet that these will change. We’ll keep you posted as we receive more updates. As always, stay tuned to DFB for the latest Disney news!
