In order to improve traffic flow around Magic Kingdom and the surrounding resorts, new ramps are being built near the Transportation and Ticket Center. This is Phase II of roadwork on World Drive, Phase I having been completed in 2019. Ramps will eventually connect the exit of Magic Kingdom to the Car Car Center. It was back in 2017 when Disney welcomed two new tiger cubs to the Maharajah Jungle Trek at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, twins Anala and Jeda, the first Sumatran tiger cubs to ever be born at the theme park. A couple of days ago, we reported that metal grating and heating elements were installed on Cinderella Castle Stage amidst its refurbishment at Magic Kingdom. Today, it seems that the addition of heating elements is complete on stage-right. Of course, during this refurbishment, temporary shrubs, fencing, and scrims are used to conceal the work being done. Wait times were moderate throughout Walt Disney World today. Average posted wait times at the Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios were 10th-highest over the past month, while Animal Kingdom was 15th out of 30. EPCOT’s average posted wait times came in as the 6th-highest for the past month, but those posted waits were almost double the actual wait times we recorded, so that all looks sus, as the kids say.
We’ve received 239 actual wait times so far today from our fabulous Lines community. And we counted 483 of 500 guests (97%) at Animal Kingdom wearing masks according to Disney’s guidelines. Let’s do the rest of the numbers!
The Haunted Mansion had an average wait time today of 26 minutes. Its 7-day average is 27 minutes, so today ranks #4 for this week. Its 30-day average is 29 minutes, so today ranks #21 for the past month. Its 365-day average is 28 minutes, so today ranks #147 for the past year. We received 16 actual wait times today, and the actual wait averaged 54% of the posted wait time.
DINOSAUR had an average wait time today of 49 minutes. Its 7-day average is 48 minutes, so today ranks #2 for this week. Its 30-day average is 49 minutes, so today ranks #17 for the past month. Its 365-day average is 31 minutes, so today ranks #51 for the past year. We received 6 actual wait times today, and the actual wait averaged 134% of the posted wait time.
Toy Story Mania! had an average wait time today of 35 minutes. Its 7-day average is 36 minutes, so today ranks #5 for this week. Its 30-day average is 35 minutes, so today ranks #11 for the past month. Its 365-day average is 27 minutes, so today ranks #37 for the past year. We received 13 actual wait times today, and the actual wait averaged 78% of the posted wait time.
Rise of the Resistance is having another rough day of operations. ROTR started off well, calling boarding groups at its normal 8:45 AM start time. Things ran well until around boarding group 35, just past 10 AM, when Rise experienced almost two hours of downtime. When Rise began operating again, it seemed to run really well, even making up some of the time it had lost. It was always going to be a challenge to catch up, though.
As I write this, Rise of the Resistance looks like it’s in the middle of another downtime experience. This one appears to have started around 4:50 PM today, around boarding group 111. It looks like Rise hasn’t called a boarding group in about an hour, so today’s unfortunately going to be one of the worst days of operation in the past week.
Update: Boarding groups have re-started in the last couple of minutes, as of 5:51 PM!
Frozen Ever After had an average wait time today of 50 minutes. Its 7-day average is 43 minutes, so today ranks #2 for this week. Its 30-day average is 41 minutes, so today ranks #5 for the past month. Its 365-day average is 45 minutes, so today ranks #93 for the past year.
