NEWS: Disney Cruise Line Extends Temporary Cancellation and Payment Policies

As Disney Cruise Line sailings remain suspended, policies are constantly changing.

Disney Cruise Line

Sailings are currently canceled through August 2021, but Disney hopes to resume limited operations in the fall. And just today, they announced that a special staycation experience is on its way to the UK! So what does all of this mean for the policies currently in place?

First of all, Disney Cruise Line has added some messaging to their website about their UK staycation cruises. They state that while their normal Disney Magic sailings from Barcelona, Civitavecchia, and Dover are still canceled through August 10th, their new UK voyages will take place.

©Disney

We’ve also got some updates on their cancellation and flexibility policies. Previously, we shared that these policy extensions were available through August 31st, 2021. Now, they’ve been extended through September 30th.

Disney Magic

Guests who have cruises booked through September 2021 will be able to make their final payment up to 60 days before sailing, as long as you’re booked in an unrestricted stateroom category. The cancellation fee schedule has also been relaxed through September, according to the details below:

©Disney

Cruise date flexibility has also been extended! You can change your sail date up to 15 days before embarkation for any sailings booked by April 30th and scheduled to sail on or before September 30th.

And if you have a COVID-related health concern (symptoms or exposure) within 14 days of sailing, you can receive a full refund with no cancellation fees — or you can apply your fare to a future cruise.

We’ll keep an eye on any future changes to Disney Cruise Line’s policies. Stay tuned to DFB for more Disney news!

Why EPCOT Might Have the Lowest Crowds in Disney World Next Week!

Just like that, we’re approaching the end of March and we’re heading into April ALREADY. 2021 is really flying by, isn’t it? If you’re heading to Disney World next week, you’re probably wondering what the crowd situation will look like!

Mickey Balloooooooons

The spring break crowds have been coming full force to Disney World (at least in whatever way they can, given the resort’s current capacity limits), and for the week of March 28th, they don’t seem to show any signs of slowing. That’s because we can look at our weekly roundup of park hours and Disney Park Pass Reservation availability (or lack thereof) to give us some hints!

Disney World Park Hours the Week of March 28th

Across the board, each of the four theme parks have the same daily hours of operation as they did last week. Magic Kingdom will be open daily from 8AM-9PM.

Hi There, Disney World 🥰

EPCOT will be open each day for the week of March 28th from 11AM-11PM. If you’re looking to visit the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival, those hours will also be from 11AM-11PM.

Spaceship Earth

Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be open daily next week from 9AM-8PM.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Last but not least, Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be open next week from 8AM-8PM daily.

Tree of Life

As we’ve seen over the last few weeks, each park has consistent park hours every day of the week. Like we mentioned last week, when a Tuesday has the same park hours as a Saturday, that’s a strong indication that the crowds will be relatively the same every day — or at least Disney is preparing for the crowd levels to be the same all week.

Click here to take a look at what some of the spring break crowds have been like!

Current Disney Park Pass Reservation Availability the Week of March 28th

Now, let’s take a look at the current availability of Park Pass Reservations for the week of March 28th.

Select Resort Hotels

If you’re a guest staying at a Select Resort Hotel, we hope you grabbed those Park Pass Reservations by now! For the remainder of the month of March, Park Pass Reservations are only available at EPCOT on select days (you’ll see them indicated in yellow below). The other days are completely full and Park Passes are not available at any of the parks on those days that appear in grey in the calendar below. Therefore, EPCOT could see lower crowds than the other parks!

Park Pass Availability Select Resort Hotels ©Disney

For the part of next week which takes place in early April, again Park Passes appear to only be available for EPCOT for guests at Select Resort Hotels.

Park Pass Availability Select Resort Hotels ©Disney

Theme Park Tickets

Things look similar for guests with Theme Park Tickets. On March 28th and March 31st, there appear to still be Park Passes available for EPCOT only. March 29th and 30th, however, appear to be completely booked.

Theme Park Tickets Park Pass Availability ©Disney

From April 1st through the 3rd, again only Park Passes for EPCOT appear to be available at the moment for guests with Theme Park Tickets.

Theme Park Tickets Park Pass Availability ©Disney

This is very similar to what we saw last week. EPCOT seems to have the most openings!

Annual Passholders

Things are a little different for Annual Passholders looking to book a Park Pass Reservation, however! On March 28th and March 29th, Park Passes are available at select parks. Right now, all parks except Disney’s Hollywood Studios are available on March 28th. All parks except Magic Kingdom are available on March 29th. And all parks are available March 30th and 31st.

Annual Passholders Park Pass Availability ©Disney

On April 1st and April 3rd, Park Passes are available at all of the theme parks for Annual Passholders! On April 2nd, however, Park Passes are available for all parks except Hollywood Studios for Passholders.

If you’re heading to Disney World next week, get ready for some of those spring break crowds to still be around! Since spring break falls into different weeks on people’s calendars, we can expect park hours and Disney Park Pass Reservation to be more or less the same for the next few weeks as we head into April. This could also be a strong indication of what we can expect this summer if Disney World’s capacity does not change by then!

Be sure to follow along as we continue to bring you the latest park hour information and the most up-to-date Park Pass Reservation System availability!

Seriously Florida…Can You Make Up Your Mind?! 🙄

Spring is in full swing in Disney World!

Flower and Garden

If you’re getting set for a trip to Disney World next week, you’ll probably want to know what to expect when it comes to the forecast. So, we’re here with a full weather update for your week in Disney!

Weather Forecast

According to The Weather Channel, the week will start off hot and mellow out a little later. Last week was on the warm side, so we’re certainly feeling that Florida springtime. If only Florida could make up its mind when it comes to weather. But NOPE…that would make packing and planning too easy.

March 29th

Monday, March 29th will start the week with pretty warm temperatures. That day is going to max out at an 87-degree high and we’ll see 68 degrees at night.

©The Weather Channel

You probably won’t need to worry about being too chilly but you will need to keep an eye out for a possible shower!

March 30th

The next day, March 30th, brings us even warmer temps hitting a hot day at 89 degrees during the day and keeping that low down at a comfy 69 degrees.

©The Weather Channel

You’ll probably be comfy in a tee all day but don’t leave that poncho at home.

March 31st

On Wednesday, March 31st, we’re going to see temps jump up a little bit more to the highest of the whole week. Your low is gonna hang out in about the same place! These are pretty warm temps we’re sticking with!

©The Weather Channel

There won’t be any rain to mellow out the heat either!

April 1st

For Thursday, April 1st, we’re seeing a day with more warm temps in the high-80s and a BIG drop in the evening to the mid-50s. Whew!

©The Weather Channel

It’s not time to leave those layers at home just yet! That evening could be chilly!

April 2nd

The week continues with a significant drop in daytime temps to the lowest of the week on April 2nd.

©The Weather Channel

Later in the week, you don’t worry too much about rain! But those temperatures are certainly cooling off.

April 3rd

Saturday, April 3rd brings us more moderate temps in the low-70s and another dry day.

©The Weather Channel

Here, we’ll see a 73-degree high and a 56-degree low.

April 4th

And we’ll wrap up our week on April 4th with a VERY comfortable day temperature-wise. It might be the nicest day of the whole week!

©The Weather Channel

It’s another uptick in temperatures, but not so high that you’ll be hot.

Overview of the Week

Here is a full overview of the week according to The Weather Channel. Temperatures are projected to be hot at the beginning of the week and then they will cool down a bit. Oh, and get ready for some chilly nights! We’re looking at a range of 70s to 80s highs and 50s to 60s lows.

We only see a little bit of rain but Florida can be a fickle thing! We recommend keeping a rain layer handy — just in case.

Tips for Weathering the Weather!

Now that we know the weather, we’ve got a few tips on how to pack and plan so you stay comfortable!

Have a rain and chill plan.

It might be a light rain week and that will be AWESOME but that doesn’t mean you should forgo tossing the poncho into your park bag. You always want to be prepared in case of a quick shower!

Poncho and Umbrella

And be ready for those cooler nights too! Seeing 80-degree temperatures could certainly make the best of us forget a jacket, but you might regret it during those mid-50s evenings.

Get ready for the heat!

Yep, you need to prep for a chill AND a sweat this week! High 80s days can mean an uncomfortable level of warmth so it’s SUPER important to get ready for those warmer temps.

Wearing Masks in the Parks

Wear sunscreen, dress comfortably, bring an extra mask, and STAY HYDRATED. This is so, so, so important to keep you having your BEST Disney vacation, even in the hot sun!

Portable heaters are pictured on the right, likely for use in the patio on chillier evenings. The patio is not yet open for guests. On the […]
