REVIEW: A Disneyland Food Booth is Serving Up An ICONIC New Orleans Dish!

We’re exploring the all-new A Touch of Disney event at Disney California Adventure.

Cluck a Doodle Moo Booth

Today is the first time that guests have been able to FULLY enter a Disneyland theme park since last March and there has been a LOT to see and do — and EAT. We’ve been reviewing LOTS of the spots around the fest and now we’re stopping in at one of the Food and Wine Booths that’s graced the event — Cluck a Doodle Moo!

Menu

Cluck a Doodle Moo is serving up a little menu with some savory dishes and fruity drinks. You’ll even spot an ICONIC Disneyland Park eat!

So, let’s try out those snacks!

Food

First up on the menu, we’re trying out the Chicken Gumbo. Disneyland-goers might recognize a version of this dish from its usual home at Cafe Orleans and Blue Bayou in Disneyland Park. At the booth, it’s available for $7. The gumbo is a Hearty Stew with Chicken, Tasso Ham, Andouille Sausage and Vegetables and we thought it was very tasty! There was a lot of flavor to this bigger dish, though not a lot of spice. If you love yourself some spicy gumbo, you’re probably going to be hoping for more.

The other food option is the Grilled Beef Tenderloin Slider for $8.50. We’ve seen this option before at this booth and is topped with Chimichurri and pickled Onions. All of the flavors combine to make one happy little burger that is a total crowd-pleaser.

Even though this is a slider, Disney didn’t shy away on the meat and manages to squeeze a pretty large patty in between the slices of bread!

While we like the simplicity of the dish and how the flavors combine, we think that it could use just one more ingredient to bring it to the next level. Otherwise, it’s tasty but pretty mild in flavor.

There are also TWO drinks on the menu here. The Berry Mule is the boozy option for $14. And, the Watermelon Agua Fresca is a non-alcoholic option for $6. We’re making our way around Disney California Adventure to sample lots of new and favorite items. So, be sure to stay tuned to DFB for lots of reviews, photos, and more!
