REVIEW: This Mac and Cheese at Disneyland’s A Touch of Disney Reminded Us of In-n-Out!

It’s quite the day over in Disney California Adventure as the park is welcoming guests back during the A Touch of Disney event!

Magnet and Button!

We’ve already taken you with us for a sneak peek of the eats and drinks at spots like Cluck a Doodle Moo, California Craft Brews, and Smokejumpers Grill. But, we thought we’d feast like a Californian as we stop by LA Style for a bite!

Menu

LA Style is throwing it back to Disney California Food & Wine Festivals of the past to bring seasonal favorites to the menu for guests to enjoy, inspired by southland food trucks.

LA Style

And, of course, we were there to try it all!

Menu

LA Style has two sandwiches and a cocktail on the menu, a Pork Belly Bánh Mi, for $8 and a plant-based Impossible Cheeseburger Mac ‘n’ Cheese with a Special Burger Sauce for $8. The cocktail is the Honey Bourbon Lemonade for $13.

LA Style Menu

Sounds good enough, but how does it taste?!

Food

First up, we tried the Pork Belly Bánh Mi, which features marinated and grilled pork belly placed on a Crispy Baguette with Pickled Daikon, Carrots, Sliced Cucumber, Jalapeño, Cilantro, and Seasoned Mayonnaise.

Pork Belly Bahn MI

We’re not going to lie — this sandwich had WAY TOO MUCH bread! It’s kind of a shame, because the pork belly was well seasoned and the vegetables were crisp and yummy, but all we could taste was the BREAD. You may still like this if you want a sandwich that’s a bit unique, but beware: Ya gotta LOVE bread!

SO MUCH BREAD!

There was no bread in sight on the Impossible Cheeseburger Mac ‘n’ Cheese, thankfully. If you’ve been eating plant-based but are missing a good ol’ fashioned burger, this just may be the dish for you! The sauce REALLY replicates that classic fast food flavor!

Impossible Cheeseburger Mac and Cheese

She ain’t pretty, but that burger sauce (think In-n-Out!) really packs a punch! This is a fun vegetarian-friendly option at A Touch of Disney!

All about that SAUCE

LA Style also has Allergy Friendly versions of these eats, so guests aren’t excluded from trying everything on the menu!

Drink

While you’re at LA Style, you can also sip on the Honey Bourbon Lemonade for $13, which is made with Bourbon Whiskey, Amber Honey, and fresh Lemon Juice. This drink is SO refreshing and smooth. If you like honey and lemonade, this is the drink for you. The bourbon isn’t so, so strong, so it doesn’t overpower the summery flavors.

Honey Bourbon Lemonade

This isn’t called a Lemonade with Honey and Bourbon for a reason, we tasted the honey flavor primarily, so if you’re not sweet on honey, this is NOT the drink for you. But this adult lemonade is really good for folks who can’t wait for sunny sips!

So refreshing!

Disney California Adventure’s dining locations are open from 12 PM to 8 PM PST for ticketed guests. And, we STILL have more restaurants and food booths to visit! So, you can hop along with us as we give you the full “A Touch of Disney” tour. Stay tuned with DFB for all the Disneyland news you need to know!
