Hello and welcome to DFB. If you’re new here, we’re going to fill you in on one important thing — here at DFB, we LOVE PLASTIC CHEESE.
We’ve even got plastic cheese merchandise! Is plastic cheese real food? Probably not. Do we care? Absolutely not. Well, today we got some EXTRA SPECIAL plastic cheese you’re going to want to check out!
As we walked around Disney’s Animal Kingdom today, we made a stop at Thirsty River Bar & Trek Snacks. When we first arrived, we were met by the sight of these pre-packaged cheese sauce packages.
Now, you might be of the mindset that ANY cheese is good cheese. And that’s…acceptable. BUT after we spoke with the Cast Member there for a second, something magical happened. Right before our eyes, Thirsty River Bar & Trek Snacks changed from pre-packed cheese sauces to THIS! PLASTIC CHEEEEEEEESE!
Why the change? Well, Disney is working on some pretty big environmental goals for the future. And Disney’s Animal Kingdom has been getting in on the action. Not too long ago, we saw special trash cans debut in Animal Kingdom with separate spots for recycling, trash, and compostable items (which included cups, food, and service-ware).
Disney is aiming to make more things for itself in the park, and the new trash cans can help. For example, did you know that the chairs at Restaurantosaurus are made out of composted materials? Pretty cool!
Well, now plastic cheese is helping save the earth too!! Wait, what? Yes, you read that right! The Cast Member at Thirsty River Bar & Trek Snacks told us that they were switching to these containers as opposed to the pre-packaged items because they’re working to make more things compostable. AND if you haven’t noticed already, the containers and lids for the plastic cheese we got today are compostable!
Also, can we just talk about how great it is to have a lid for your plastic cheese so you can bring it around with you everywhere?! Ugh, amazing.
The Cast Member shared that right now Trek Snacks and Restaurantosaurus are the only spots in the park that have this plastic cheese option in the compostable container. We’ll keep an eye out for more updates on that.
So, if you want to grab some plastic cheese AND save the earth(!!), be sure to look for these compostable cheese containers. And remember to toss the container and lid into the compost can in the park!
We’ll be on the lookout for more updates on everything around Disney World, but especially news about plastic cheese because…well, because plastic cheese! Stay tuned to DFB for more updates.
LOVE Plastic Cheese as much as we do? Check out the plastic cheese merch and more on our DFB store!
