This year marks the 50th anniversary of Disney World, and Disney is getting ready to throw a VERY glitzy birthday party!
Decorations are already going up!
And decorations at Magic Kingdom are already going up! The castle got a spiffy new paint job, along with some brand new GORGEOUS decor! Bonjour Village Gifts just got a new look, AND we’ve even learned that the Main Street Confectionery is about to get a serious makeover!
But Disney World is just getting started because there is SO much more going on (and we haven’t even mentioned the EPCOT transformation!). We just recently found out that Fantasyland will also get a makeover! According to Disney, “Whether it be a freshly painted castle turret being adorned with 50th anniversary décor, or shimmering gold leaf being added to your favorite Fantasyland attractions, our cast members are hard at work making Magic Kingdom Park shine like never before.”

Why gold? Well, gold is the traditional 50th-anniversary gift, so Disney is gifting us all with a beautiful golden new look for Fantasyland. We can’t wait to see it! And we’ll be there taking photos of the Fantasyland transformation (as well as everything else), so stay tuned to see it all! Could this be the reason for all the scrim at Peter Pan’s Flight?! We will have to wait and see, but we can’t wait to find out!
