Trader Joe’s Foods That Will Make You Feel Like You’re at Disney World

If you’re like us, one of your favorite parts of visiting Walt Disney World is all the food!

Waffles with a view

And, you don’t necessarily have to be in the parks to get a taste of your favorite treats and eats in from Disney. That’s why we love sharing Disney recipes with you to try at home! While it somehow never tastes exactly how it does in Disney World (no matter how close you follow the recipe), there’s still something special about foods marked as “Disney” in our minds. And, for those who don’t want to try their hand in the kitchen, we’ve got a list of pre-packaged foods to make you feel like you’re at Disney that you can find at Trader Joe’s! So, if you’re a big fan of the grocery store like many of our writers ae, here’s everything you can pick up to bring some of that Disney magic home!

Philly Cheesesteak Bao Buns

First up is a flavor that you probably thought you could only taste when exploring Pandora — The World of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. That’s right, we talking about the Cheeseburger Pods from Satu’li Canteen! These wrapped cheeseburger buns are delicious and are made with ground beef, ketchup, mustard, pickle, and cheddar cheese at Disney World and you can find a copycat at Trader Joe’s!

Next time you’re visiting the grocery store, pick up a box of the Philly Cheesesteak Bao Buns. You’ll find these in the frozen section and all you have to do is pop them in the oven and enjoy a taste of Disney!

They are made with Philly cheesesteak in a bao bun with shredded beef, onion, and bell pepper. So, not exactly the same recipe, but they taste pretty close to the real thing! You’ll find them in a box of 4 for $3.49.

Big Soft Pretzels

Mickey Pretzels are perhaps the most iconic Disney World snack. There’s just something better about giant pretzels in the shape of Mickey Mouse. You can find them everywhere around the parks when you’re visiting and, now, you can even find them at home!

Mickey Pretzel Time!

Trader Joe’s sells bags of Big Soft Pretzels in the frozen section and they are sure to remind you of days snacking on the salty snack in front of Cinderella Castle! They aren’t Mickey-shaped but use your imagination and it’ll feel almost the same!

They come in a pack of 4 for $2.49. Honestly, this is such a steal that you might pack your own pretzels for your next visit to Disney World and just buy the plastic cheese! 😉

Brazilian Style Cheese Bread

Next up is cheesy bread! If you love the Brazilian Cheese Bread that can be found during the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival or have tried the Pao de Queijo off the secret menu at Jungle Navigation Co., Ltd. Skipper Canteen in Magic Kingdom, then you’re in for a treat! Carbs and cheese go hand in hand and you don’t have to be at Disney World to get your fix!

You can get the Trader Joe’s Brazilian Style Cheese Bread and create your own Disney dining adventure! These are made with tapioca flour and parmesan cheese with a thin crisp exterior and a chewy cheese center. Um…YUM!

You can find it in the frozen section (are you picking up on a theme here?) for $3.99. And, you get 12 pieces for that price!

Garlic Naan & Butter Chicken

If you’ve ever eaten at Yak & Yeti Restaurant in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, you probably know that they serve up some pretty tasty Asian-style dishes! And, if you’ve tried the Chicken Tikka Masala, you probably were left wanting more after scooping up every inch of the sauce with naan. And, Trader Joe’s has something that tastes pretty close so you can enjoy more dinners feeling like you’re dining in Disney World!

Trader Joe’s sells a Butter Chicken with Basmati Rice that you can warm up in the oven! Pair it with Trader Joe’s Garlic Naan and you have yourself a fancy Disney-inspired meal!

The Butter Chicken serves one and can be found in the frozen section for $3.69. And, the Garlic Naan is also there for $1.99. You may never want to spend $25.99 on the dish at Disney World again after eating this (though we still do)!

Pizza Margherita

If you’ve been following us for a while here at DFB, you probably know that one of our favorite places to grab pizza is Via Napoli in the Italy Pavilion at EPCOT. And, if you’re craving some wood-fired pizza, there’s something at Trader Joe’s that will make you feel like your eating the Margherita Pizza in the middle of the restaurant.

Via Napoli Pizza Margherita

Trader Joe’s has a Pizza Margherita that you can find in the frozen section. So, all you need to do is warm this one up in the oven and get to snacking! If you want to get real authentic to the Disney experience, give your oven a name (Vesuvio, Etna, and Stromboli are already taken)!

The frozen pizza is imported from Italy so really you’re getting as close as you can get to Via Napoli, right? And, instead of buying a plane ticket (or a park ticket), this one will only cost you $3.99.

Mac & Cheese Bites

Wine Bar George serves up some Crispy Mac & Cheese Bites that we’ve been known to rave about in the past. We can’t help it! And, if you also love the crispy, cheesy small plate from the Disney Springs restaurant, then you’re in luck because you can whip them up at home in little to no time!

Next time you’re at the grocery store, pick up a box of the Trader Joe’s Mac & Cheese Bites! These little guys come frozen in a box of 10 and you can warm them up in the oven or get fancy and use an air fryer to make them extra crispy. Pair it with a marinara sauce and parmesan cheese and you’ll feel like you’re at Disney World, no reservation needed!

And, you’ll be snacking at a fraction of the cost. These are only $3.99 at the store!

Chicken Chilaquiles Rojo

There are a lot of Disney fans that will argue the only way to travel around World Showcase at EPCOT is by starting in the Mexico Pavilion. If you’re one of those people then you’re going to love this next one! La Canita de San Angel is the Quick Service restaurant located in the Mexico Pavilion where you can find all the tacos, chips, and guacamole your heart desires. And, we found something at Trader Joe’s that combines all the flavors from the Disney World restaurant into one!

La Cantina de San Angel

Trader Joe’s Chicken Chilaquiles Rojo is a pre-made Mexican bowl that is frozen so you can enjoy it whenever you please! It has grilled white chicken meat, cotija cheese, vegetables, pinto beans & corn tortilla chips in a tomato-based chile sauce. While this isn’t mimicking one item on the menu at Disney, it has all the Mexican flavors to make you feel like you’re dining over World Showcase Lagoon.

You can find it in the frozen section for $4.99.

Chocolate Croissants

And, the last snack to take you on your journey through Walt Disney World from home is the heavenly combination of croissants and chocolate. If you’ve ever found yourself craving French flavors in Disney World, you’re probably familiar with Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie. This little bakery is located in the back of the France Pavilion at EPCOT and serves up sweet and savory pastries and sandwiches. And, we’re talking about one of their sweeter items here, the Pain au Chocolat (aka, chocolate croissant). They’re everything you’d expect out of a chocolate-filled croissant — big and delicious! And, you don’t have to stop by your Starbucks at home to be reminded of the Disney World Snack!

Chocolate croissants from Les Halles

Trader Joe’s sells a box of 4 Chocolate Croissants for $4.49 in the frozen section that satisfies that need for something sweet and savory! They also sell Almond Croissants so you can even find another treat that reminds you of the restaurant!

Add all these snacks to your grocery list and head on over to Trader Joe’s! You’ll be feeling like you’ve traveled all around Walt Disney World for at least the next week! Plus, you get a Trader Joe’s trip out of it all and it’s known as the “Disney World of grocery stores” after all!
