Visiting Animal Kingdom in April?! New Snacks, Characters, and More Are Coming!

Boy is 2021 going by fast — it’s almost April!

Tree of Life

And while Disney’s already kicked off lots of seasonal celebrations so far, from Valentine’s Day to St. Patrick’s Day to Easter, there’s still more to come! Earth Day is on April 22nd, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom is celebrating all month long. Recently, Disney spilled all the details on what’s to come for Earth Month. Let’s take a look!

Some limited time eats, experiences, and offerings will take place from April 18th to the 24th! You may catch some new characters aboard the flotillas, joining Mickey, Minnie, and more on their character cavalcades.

And at The Animation Experience over at the Conservation Station, you’ll get a chance to draw characters like Dumbo, Terk, Squirt, Shere Khan, Simba and Scar. These animals represent conservation efforts all around the globe! These characters will replace the Raya and the Last Dragon-inspired lessons currently taking place.

There will also be some limited-time treats offered — and if there’s one thing Animal Kingdom’s good at, it’s those seasonal snacks! Available eats include the returning Honey Bee Cupcake at Creature Comforts, the Flamingo Cupcake at Flame Tree Barbecue, and the Sea Turtle Graham Cracker Cupcake at Restaurantosaurus Lounge (You’ll also be able to snag the Crave the Wave cocktail here!).

But that’s not all! Wilderness Explorers will be able to earn a limited-time Earth Day Nature badge, and you can grab plenty of Earth Day merchandise. There will be a limited edition Te Fiti trading pin, plenty of plushes, and items like eco-friendly water bottles that promote sustainability.

Calling all Wilderness Explorers!

You can also pose with special Earth Day PhotoPass magic shots and backgrounds, or download Earth Day screensavers and Zoom backgrounds from the My Disney Experience app.

And remember that Raya and the Last Dragon sand sculpture chillin’ on the Discovery Island Stage? It’s being replaced with a NEW sand sculpture celebrating National Geographic’s Secrets of the Whales, which will stream on Disney+ on Earth Day. And yup, you can still count on seeing 40 TONS of sand!
