What Does a SOLD OUT A Touch of Disney Crowd Look Like at Disneyland?

We’re LIVE from the first day of A Touch of Disney in California Adventure — that’s right, we’re BACK inside a Disneyland theme park (well, a FULL Disneyland theme park) for the first time in over a year!

A Touch of Disney

There may not be any rides available at this event, but that doesn’t mean it’s any less popular. Tickets for the event sold out in less than a day, so we knew the crowds would show up! But just how busy is it inside this limited-capacity event? Let’s find out!

We were on the lookout for crowds as soon as we arrived in the morning to park. After all, those Disneyland fans are masters at showing up EARLY for special events like this! But, we experienced NO wait for security and temperature screenings coming from the Simba Lot!

Temperature screening

We arrived early, about an hour and a half before the Mickey & Friends parking garage opened up, so your mileage may vary. When in doubt, though, arrive EARLY! While we spotted a small group of people on the Harbor Blvd. side of the esplanade, Downtown Disney was pretty empty too! (This was around 10 AM, two hours before A Touch of Disney kicked off!)

We noticed a small crowd around the Disney California Adventure gate about an hour and a half before A Touch of Disney kicked off

Crowds in front of DCA

…but they were socially distanced pretty well, standing on markers in front of the park’s entrance.

An hour before A Touch of Disney

Once we got in, we hit a bit of a roadblock by Cars Land

a BIT of a roadblock

…but the crowds quickly dispersed.

Mobile Order is the name of the game when it comes to the food and drinks across A Touch of Disney, so we were curious to see how busy the booths would look!

Cluck-a-Doodle-Moo

And they really weren’t that bad!

Tables were spaced out well, too, though there were more people there than in other areas of the park.

Like Pixar Pier was DEAD.

SO FEW PEOPLE!

Even the photo opps in this area didn’t draw many crowds.

To infinity and — not so many people

This was also the first time Disneyland locals would get to wave and say “hello” to their favorite characters, like Mickey, Minnie, and Pluto! But did the characters draw massive crowds? Nope! It was a lot of socially-distanced selfies.

JOY!

In general, the crowds seem to ebb and flow, you may see quite the scene in one area…

A few more folks

…and then another is practically empty!

We can’t spot another soul

We’ll be bringing you even more coverage from A Touch of Disney today as well as in the coming weeks, so be sure to stay tuned and follow along!
