5 ALLERGY FRIENDLY FOODS AT DISNEY’S FLOWER & GARDEN FESTIVAL

5 ALLERGY FRIENDLY FOODS AT DISNEY’S FLOWER & GARDEN FESTIVAL

Disney is no stranger to a plethora of delicious dining options. From festival foods to just the normal delicious park foods Disney has to offer. However, some park goers out there have food allergies and can’t enjoy certain dishes that others can. That’s why today we decided to head out to Disney’s Flower & Garden Festival to see how easy it was to find allergy friendly food options! We found that it was surprisingly easy, we found gluten, dairy and nut friendly food and menu options that were pretty delicious. Gluten friendly menu items are notated on the festival passports as well as the plant-based items. When dining, you do have to ask the cast members if there are any nut allergy friendly items or dairy allergy friendly items but all cast members are super knowledgeable and happy to help when asked. Instead of searching for these allergy friendly food options yourself, you can rely on us to come to the “rescue”. Now, here are 5 allergy friendly food options at Disney’s Flower & Garden Festival.

1. GRILLED BABY VEGETABLES

Our first stop on our allergy friendly food tour, we stopped at Flavor Full Kitchen. Being the only allergy friendly food option on the menu, we got the Grilled Baby Vegetables. This dish is Grilled Baby Vegetables served with Hummus Cream and Red Pepper Coulis, priced at $4.75. This food option at Flavor Full Kitchen is gluten free and meat free but there are tree nuts inside of the Hummus. I’ve had this dish in the past and it was absolutely delicious but it was cold the last time. I decided to give it a try again and this time it was nice and warm. It was very flavorful and tastes like it came straight off of the grill. In conclusion, if you have a gluten or meat allergy, this menu option could be for you.

2. TUPELO HONEY AND SWEET CORN SPOON BREAD

For our second wonderful allergy free menu item, we find ourselves at Honey Beestro. We picked up the Tupelo Honey and Sweet Corn Spoon Bread. This dish is Tupelo Honey and Sweet Corn Spoon Bread served with Jalapenos, Bacon and House-made Whipped Honey Butter, priced at $4.75. This food option at Honey Beestro is gluten free and nut free, but it does contain dairy due to the butter. Upon first taste of this food option, it was very buttery but delicious. It tastes like a buttery corn bread but you don’t get a taste of the Jalapenos at all. Since the bacon is cooked into the cornbread, this dish couldn’t be passed as a meat free option. If you are gluten free, I highly recommend this tasty option.

3. POPSICLE TRIO

If your sweet tooth is acting up but you have an allergy, look no further than the Popsicle Trio. You can find the Popsicle Trio over at the Refreshment Port. This delicious item is Honeydew, Raspberry Mint and Coconut Lime all packed into a Popsicle, which is priced at $5.00. This Popsicle Trio does contain dairy and coconut which could be a part of a nut allergy, but it is gluten free. The Coconut Lime Popsicle was very delicious and refreshing on a hot day. The Raspberry Mint Popsicle was more of a raspberry taste rather than a minty taste but very good. Last but not least is the Honeydew Popsicle and it wasn’t as creamy as the others but more of an icy feel. In conclusion, all 3 of these popsicles were very delicious and I recommend these only if you’re gluten free.

4. SOPE DE CHORIZO

Coming close to the end of our journey around the Flower & Garden Festival we picked up the Sope De Chorizo, offered at Jardin De Fiestas in Mexico. The Sope De Chorizo is plant-based Ground Chorizo on Fried Corn Dough with Black Beans and Avocado Mousse, which is priced at $6.75. The Sope De Chorizo is vegan, gluten free as well as nut free. They fry the Corn Dough in soybean oil rather than peanut oil. The initial smell of this item is to die for taste is outstanding. The Corn Dough is a little hard to cut so it’s more of a finger food. This dish has a little bit of a kick to it but a sweet after taste to it at the end. All around, this dish is very tasty and it’s perfect for those that are looking for vegan options.

5. TACO VAMPIRO

Last but not least still at Jardin De Fiestas in Mexico, we decided to double up and also get the Taco Vampiro. This dish is Braised Beef on a Corn Tortilla with Crispy Grilled Monterey Jack and Salsa Ranchera, which is priced at $7.25. The Taco Vampiro is gluten free and nut free but it is not vegan due to the braised beef. If you’re flavor pallet intels fried cheese on food items, this is for you! The Braised beef inside is marinated to perfection and fried cheese on the outside really pulls this dish together. In conclusion, the Taco Vampiro is absolutely delicious and it’s perfect for those that are gluten free and have nut allergies.
