If there’s one thing that’s predictable about Disney World restaurants…it’s that they’re unpredictable!
Disney’s dining locations are constantly evolving and we do our best to keep up with all the menu changes around the parks and resorts. Whether it’s a new item at a snack stand or a whole line of updated entrees at a sit-down restaurant, we make sure to follow Disney World menus closely. And today, we were given a pleasant surprise — two totally revamped menus at one of the table service restaurants!
This morning, we discovered that the menus have changed significantly at Trattoria al Forno(which was character dining prior to the closure) at Disney’s BoardWalk! There are updated versions of both the breakfast and dinner menus, and some of these options sound pretty great. For reference, here’s the old breakfast menu:
We tried the old breakfast menu out last summer when the BoardWalk reopened (you can find our review here!) but now it looks like we’ll be going back soon to taste the new options. The menu is now divided into some new sections. In the Dalla Cucina, you’ll find new items like the Sunrise Breakfast Pizza for $14 and the Tiramisu-Style French Toast for $16.
We also spotted items from the old menu, like Buttermilk Pancakes for $15 and the Oak-grilled Steak and Eggs for $21. The steak was formerly served with asparagus and a cheesy egg torte but now comes with sunny-side-up eggs.
In the Uova Fresche di Fattoria section of the breakfast menu, there are several different types of eggs available. Poached Eggs are still available for $13, as well as the Two Eggs Your Way option for $15. If you want something more adventurous, you can try out the new Al Forno Eggs for $15 with Brick Oven-roasted Cage-free Eggs, Spiced Tomato Sauce, and Crispy Country Bread.
There’s also the Caprese Omelet for $16, which is a twist on the older Open-faced Italian Omelet that we tried last time.
In the Un Nuovo Inizio section, the Avocado Toast has stuck around for $12 as a plant-based option, while two new items have made the list. The Florentine Frittata is $16 and comes with Egg Whites, Baby Spinach, Goat Cheese, Fresh Herbs, and Seasonal Fruit, and the Freshly Harvested Fruit Plate is $15 and comes with Yogurt, Honeycomb, and House-made Granola.
Looking at the dinner menu, there are some big differences as well. For the Appertizers (that’s how they spell it), most of the options have changed. We have the addition of Coastal Mussels for $18, Calamari for $17 (formerly a calamari fritti with different sauces), Salumi for $15, and a Roma Tomato Bruschetta for $13.
Besides those, there are also new salad and soup choices. While the Insalata Caprese has stayed for $13, there’s a new Tuscan Salad and Kale Caesar Salad, each for $12. And if you’re not a salad person, try out the Minestrone Soup for $9.
On the list of Entrees, the Oak-grilled Strip Steak is still on the menu, as well as the Parmigiana di Pollo. The steak is $39 and the chicken is $26.
However, as far as new items go, there are QUITE a few to choose from. You can try out the Veal Osso Buco for $34, the Rosemary-Tuna Carpaccio for $33, the Grilled Swordfish Salmoriglio for $32, or the Shrimp Papardelle for $29. There’s also a new Lasagna al Forno for $27 and a Plant-Based Rigatoni Bolognese for $25.
Also, there’s a whole new list of pizzas to enjoy! Choose from the Pizze Bianca, Pizze Sicilian, or Pizze Margherita for $19 each, the Pizze Pepperoni for $20, or the Pizze Carni for $22. And for sides, you can order Italian favorites like Shrimp Scampi, Garlic Bread, Grilled Chicken Breast, Olives, Polpette, or the Crispy Pancetta Arrancini.
Wow, that was quite the menu update! We can’t wait to try out these new items and report back to you with our review. Stay tuned to DFB for all the latest food news!
