Here at DFB, we like to consider ourselves experts on Disney snacks!

We visit the parks daily to try out all the interesting new eats that Disney releases. We have quite the list of favorites in the parks, resorts, and Disney Springs. However, we ARE just one group of people, and there’s a good chance that other guests won’t always agree with our snack opinions. To see what a wider variety of people think, we reached out to our followers and asked “Which Disney snack will you NEVER ever eat again?” And honestly…the answers were all over the board!

Turkey Leg

Perhaps the most popular answer from our readers was the Disney turkey leg! Many people had some strong opinions about this gigantic snack. One person said, “It was cool to say I tried it, but probably won’t eat it again.”

Another answered, “They taste more like ham and are just too big for me.” When we’ve discussed unpopular snacks in the past, this one almost always makes the list, with many fans complaining that it’s too dry or salty. (Poor turkey legs, they just need someone to love them! )

Mickey Pretzel

Who would’ve thought that a Mickey-shaped snack would make this list?! While Mickey pretzels are great for photos, they’re definitely not the most beloved pretzel option at Disney World. One reader described them as “dry and thick” while another said, “They are ok but so many better options!”

Even we at DFB have to admit that there are other pretzels we like better. We’re bigger fans of the jumbo pretzels at BaseLine Tap House in Hollywood Studios and Pongu Pongu in Animal Kingdom (they both come with more delicious cheese sauces!).

Dole Whip/Dole Whip Floats

Okay, this one hurts to write. We had quite a few followers share that they weren’t a fan of Dole Whip or Dole Whip floats. The sweet non-dairy pineapple soft serve is practically a Disney rite of passage for many. You can find this just about everywhere in Disney World (it seems that way, at least!). It’s sold in many resorts, theme parks, and even Disney Springs. Thankfully, most of our readers realized how scandalous they were being with their dole Whip-hate, with one reader saying, “I know I know…I should be banned for life.”

Ironically, many of the people who gave this answer thought their opinion was unpopular…even though it wasn’t! One person did state that they only dislike the pineapple Dole Whip flavor because they believe the other flavors are superior. some people just aren’t pineapple fans — that’s totes OK! Even we admit that we often enjoy flavors like strawberry and orange better than the OG!

Pongu Lumpia

Over at Pongu Pongu in Animal Kingdom’s Pandora, you’ll find the Pongu Lumpia — a spring roll wrapper stuffed with cream cheese and crushed pineapple. Some people didn’t have very nice things to say about this snack, with one person sharing, “It was okay, but a one and done for me.”

We received a few comments from people who thought the cream cheese texture was weird. Our team is pretty split on the love it or leave it-ness of this snack. However, this is one of the cheapest treats that Disney World has to offer, so it may be worth trying for that reason alone. What do you have to lose?

Cheshire Cat Tail

Yet another DFB favorite on the list — you guys are just trying to hurt us! We’ve loved this chocolate-laced puff pastry twist for years. We heard things from our followers like, “Was really looking forward to it but it was stale and very little icing.”

Unfortunately, with pastries, your mileage may vary a bit. If you get one that isn’t as fresh and warm or that didn’t get quite as much icing as the others, it can drastically change your experience. If you try the Cheshire Cat Tail and have a less-than-perfect experience, we’d definitely recommend trying again to see if you can get one that’s freshly made! You can currently get these guys at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe or Lunching Pad in Magic Kingdom — its original home, Cheshire Cafe, is still closed.

Blue/Green Milk

We get it. Blue and Green Milk are two of Disney World’s most divisive treats at the moment, and fans tend to either love them or hate them. You can find these, naturally, at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. They have interesting flavor combinations and the flavors are a little hard to describe. The blue is dragon fruit, pineapple, lime, and watermelon and tastes very generically like mildly sweet fruit, while the green milk is mandarin orange, passion fruit, grapefruit, and orange blossom, tasting like kinda flowery citrus to us. They’re all made with coconut and rice milks, making them non-dairy.

Several folks called them a “one and done” and one person referred to them as “those gosh darn milks,” which kinda makes them sound like old rivals. A common complaint was the plant-based milk texture throwing them off. Others weren’t fans of the taste.  Try these at least one time, but if you don’t like them, you’re not alone!

Spring Rolls

Magic Kingdom’s spring rolls have gained a massive cult following in recent years, but apparently, not everyone is a fan! You will OFTEN catch up at the little cart just outside of Adventureland buying up these savory snacks. One of our followers said, “I’m sorry, it didn’t live up to the hype.”

Of those that submitted the spring rolls as the snack they’d never eat again, some said that they were “too greasy” while others noted that they didn’t like the cheeseburger filling. We’ve had good luck in our spring rolls here, but with such typically greasy fillings like pepperoni and cheese all wrapped up and fried, it makes sense some guests could wind up with a grease bomb. We’re disappointed that not everyone enjoys this beloved snack, but hey, that just means more for us!

Churros

Disney World’s churros made it on this list for one reason and one reason only…Disneyland’s churros are better! We got several comments saying things like “100x better in Disneyland!” and “Yes I said it, but they do not come close to Disneyland’s churros.”

Honestly, we have to agree with our readers on this one! We don’t necessarily have anything AGAINST Disney World churros, but they don’t hold a candle to their Disneyland counterpart. Maybe it’s the inventive flavor combos they get out there or just that lack of muggy humidity (yep. Probably the latter!) but Disneyland churros are :chef kiss:.

School Bread

Just like the milk in Galaxy’s Edge, this is kind of a “love it or hate it” snack. You can find the school bread at Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe in EPCOT’s Norway Pavilion, and while we’re all about it, not everyone is. We happen to LOVE this sweet bread stuffed with pastry cream, topped with glaze and toasted coconut. But we get it — it’s not for everyone.

“I had such high expectations but hated it,” said one of our readers. Another felt guilty for disliking it, saying, “I know…I know…but I just couldn’t do it!” Some people are 200% Team Shredded Coconut and others…not so much. It’s okay guys, even if you hate school bread, you can still be our friend.

Cheeseburger Pods

Sadly, another DFB fave has made the list! We love the idea of a reinvented cheeseburger, but not everyone else does, apparently. These pillowy steamed buns stuffed with cheeseburger flavor are one of our favorite Animal Kindom foods. Some said that there is too much dough and not enough filling for their tastes.

Other people had the opposite problem — they really didn’t like the filling. It reminds us a lot of a McDonald’s cheeseburger, so take that into consideration when trying this snack. When mentioning cheeseburger pods, one of our followers said, “Not a fan! Wish I was.” We do too, but that’s okay — we’ll get through this together.

Poor Unfortunate Souls Float

We weren’t shocked to see this 2020 Halloween treat on the list because it was SUPER divisive. Not only that, but there were TWO versions, both equally hated by many! The float first appeared at the Villains After Hours event with black raspberry soft serve and Cherry Coke. We did NOT love that flavor combo (it tasted like cloyingly sweet cough syrup to us!), but when it came back for Halloween with cream cheese soft serve instead, we thought it was a major improvement.

Even still, some of our team LOVED the intensely purple cream cheese soft serve and others would rather not. Seems our readers felt the same — several of our followers mentioned that they would never eat that “gross cream cheese float” again! We’re not sure if Disney will bring this one back again, but if they do, we might advise some more changes to make it appeal to a broader audience.

Beverly

Beverly is one of Disney World’s most universally intentionally hated drinks, so we’d be surprised if it hadn’t made its way onto the list. Guests used to be able to get Beverly at Club Cool in EPCOT, but now you’ll have to head to the Coca-Cola Rooftop Beverage Bar in Disney Springs. 

So, WHY do so many people dislike this soda? Well, let’s just say that it’s pretty bitter and unpleasant to most palettes. If it tastes like old medicine to you it’s because, well, it kind of was! The drink was originally sold as an apéritif meant to be sipped before a meal to increase appetite. Here in America, we tend to like our soda’s pretty sweet, so it’s not something that we’re really used to. BUT, even still, this drink has famously become a must-do for many EPCOT guests wanting to scrunch their faces up at the bitter flavor. Rest easy, Beverly fans — Club Cool is returning to EPCOT soon and we’re imagining we’ll see our old friend Beverly once again.

Various Cupcakes

Throughout our many responses to the question, we had a few different readers mention various Disney cupcakes. One person said that they’d never eat the Cotton Candy Cupcake again, while another shared that they wouldn’t want the Piggylicious bacon cupcake from EPCOT’s Flower and Garden Festival twice. 

One follower even specifically said “The cupcakes with more frosting than cake! Makes a mess and makes you sick.” Now, it’s no secret that we here at DFB are big Disney cupcake aficionados. But, even we have to admit that we haven’t loved every cupcake we tried in the parks — they’re not all created equal!

(But also…TOO much frosting?? IS there such a thing?!)
