Something exciting is coming to Disney World!

All kinds of events are kicking off in and around Disney World, from the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival this summer to a virtual runDisney event. But over at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, a famous competition will take place.
The Scripps National Spelling Bee is hosting this year’s finals at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex! 10-12 finalists will travel to Walt Disney World to compete in person after virtual preliminaries, quarterfinals, and semifinals.

Adam Symson, president and chief executive officer of The E.W. Scripps Company, stated, “As the world continues to adapt to an ongoing pandemic, Scripps is committed to reimagining the beloved competition in a way that safely allows our exceptional spellers to continue this iconic tradition on the national stage.” The finals will be hosted on July 8th, 2021, and be broadcast live on ESPN2.
