The top 3 factors in real estate are location, location, location. The same is true with finding an ideal hotel room at Walt Disney World. Although Disney divides up rooms by categories, not every room within a certain category is created equal. Some are noisier than others. Different rooms will have different walking distances to key features. Views from the room are different. How can you get the best room for your money? Try the TouringPlans Room Finder.

The TouringPlans Room Finder is available for anyone to use, but the Room Request feature requires an active TouringPlans subscription. From the Room Finder page, simply select the resort you’re looking for to start the process of finding your ideal room. For instance, let’s look for a room at Caribbean Beach.

On the Caribbean Beach page, simply select the filters that you want to apply. For instance, I want a standard-view 2 queen bed with a child pull-down bed, and because I’m traveling with kids, I want to be close to Disney transportation.

When I click “Show Matching Rooms”, the map indicates the buildings that have rooms that meet this criteria, highlighted in red.

You can also opt to see TouringPlans picks. In this category, one example that comes up is room 5261 in the Aruba building. This shows me walking time to Disney transportation, to the lobby, and things like rack rates and accessibility, plus what the view would look like from the room.

Clicking on the photo enlarges the image to get a good view of the room.

There’s also the option to look at rooms to the left or right, up, or down. For instance, going down one level from the second floor to the first floor changes the view to this.

 

You can also pull up data for the room, including sound level, whether there’s a connecting room, walking distances, and more. You can see any user comments that have been added, and you can add your own private notes.

You can also click on buildings in the map and select individual rooms.

If you are a paid subscriber and already have a vacation set up on your TouringPlans dashboard, the photo of the room will also include a link to request the room.

Simply click on the link, fill out the form with your reservation number and contact information (if you haven’t already included that in your dashboard), and save. At the 30-day mark prior to your check in, we’ll do the work and send your request. You can also delete this request if you decide to pick a different room.
