NEWS: LOTS More Airlines Offering Direct Flights to Orlando Soon!

When Google searches show a MASSIVE 2600% increase in travel to Disney World, the tourism industry takes heed!

Magic of Disney at Orlando International Aiport

As people start to ease back into “normal” travel and begin planning vacations again, several more airlines are adding flights to Orlando International Airport to better link Disney World with the rest of the country — and the globe!

In recent weeks, we’ve seen a BIG uptick in travelers to Disney World…sometimes to the chagrin of others clamoring to get an increasingly hard-to-nab park pass!

Magic Kingdom crowds

To meet the demand, and the rising interest in travel to Disney World, multiple airlines are hopping on the magical bandwagon by adding even MORE flights to Orlando according to Bizjournals!

Last month, we reported that three MAJOR airlines were already planning on increasing their direct flights to the Disney-adjacent city. Now, we’re seeing this expand, with additional airlines from across the U.S. and the world increasing their flight offerings.

These include Aer Lingus, which starts direct service from Manchester, U.K. July 29th. Frontier Airlines was already planning on adding several new routes, and now they’re adding more options from Rochester, San Jose, and St. Maarten.

In addition to daily flights from Austin, starting May 6th, American Airlines adds summer itineraries from Birmingham, Alabama; Dayton, Ohio; Indianapolis; Memphis; Nashville; Pittsburgh; and Raleigh-Durham, all beginning June 5th.

Hawaiian Airlines makes it easier to connect to and from Honolulu between June 1st and August 10th, while Silver Airways links Orlando to Charleston and Columbia, South Carolina, later this year.

Southwest Airlines just started servicing Houston to Orlando, and Spirit Airlines is also adding more flight options, including Louisville (May 27th), St. Louis (May 27th), and Milwaukee (June 24th).

Orlando Airport

Starting September 2nd, travelers can easily get to Orlando from Indianapolis and Hartford, Connecticut, on Sun Country, while Viva Air provides international service from Medellin, Colombia, beginning June 10th.

In other international news, we’re also seeing more upcoming flights from Germany-based Lufthansa and British airline Virgin Atlantic, poised to add direct service in June.

More direct flights means more Disney time!

Clearly, the world is ready to vacation again, and the travel industry is ready to answer the call!
