Who doesn’t love a tasty slice of pizza?

Pizza can be hit or miss in Disney World. Sometimes you’re eating pillowy or cardboardy not-so-good slices and sometimes you’re eating yummy and authentic slices (We’re looking at you Via Napoli!). Well, it seems we’ve got another option when it comes to the latter — and we gave it a try!
Primo Piatto is a quick-service location at Disney’s Riviera Resort, the newest hotel in Disney World. We got to try out their Margherita Pizza today and we have to say, we’re impressed.

This pie is a Hearth-baked pizza topped with tomato sauce, Heirloom tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and grated Romano topped with extra virgin olive oil and fresh cut basil. Those are some pretty classic flavors. So, how did they stand up?

The first thing we noticed is that the sauce is very sweet and full of tomato flavor. We also thought there was the perfect sauce to crust ratio. The dough itself is nice and pillowy with a crunchy and crisp crust. Those heirloom tomatoes are a nice addition!

The pie was a little light on the cheese; the slices were smaller than we tend to expect from a Margherita pizza. BUT, the cheese was SO good and you can really taste how fresh it is. Add the fresh basil and olive oil and you’ve got some AMAZING flavors all together.

We’d definitely get this slice again. This is not for those looking for that classic, Disney World theme park pizza. It’s a seriously good meal with fresh ingredients!
