While we already knew some details about the Disney Wish — and even got a peek at some concept art! — today’s Once Upon a Disney Wish event gave us even more insight into the new ship! And boy do we have LOTS to share with you. So let’s get started!

When Will it Sail?

The Disney Wish will embark on its maiden voyage on June 9th, 2022! You’ll be able to book reservations starting on May 27th. Castaway Cay members, Disney Vacation Club members, and Adventure Insiders will get early access to booking. You can check out those dates below.

After the ship’s maiden voyage from June 9th-14th, you’ll be able to choose between a 3-night or 4-night Bahamian cruise.

Itineraries have been released through September 2022!

Restaurants

We’re ALL about food here at DFB, so of course, we’ve gotta talk about all the dining options onboard! And trust us, there are a LOT of ’em. To start, there are 3 restaurants for the whole family! The first is Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure, which will transport guests to Anna and Kristoff’s engagement party (with plenty of live music!).

©Disney

Learn More About Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure!

You can also stop by Worlds of Marvel, an “ambitious dining experience” that puts YOU right in the middle of your very own superhero adventure!

There’s also 1923, inspired by The Walt Disney Company’s journey through animation. This spot’s got a laid-back Hollywood vibe, with plenty of props showing the history of Disney movies!

Star Wars: Hyperspace Lounge is a watering hole for all ages during the day — but at night, it transforms into an adult-only experience. You’ll sip on Star Wars-inspired beverages as you’re transported around the galaxy with plenty of cool tech!

©Disney

Grown-ups can also enjoy a suite of adult-only Beauty and the Beast-inspired dining experiences. You can grab a cocktail at The Rose

©Disney

…enjoy authentic Italian at Palo Steakhouse (inspired by Cogsworth!)…

©Disney

…or sit down for an extravagant meal at Enchanté, featuring a gourmet menu by three-Michelin-starred Chef Arnaud Lallement. This spot is based off none other than the elegant Lumière!

©Disney

Lastly, adults can head over to the Quiet Cove Pool District, where they can grab some sips at the open-air Cove Bar or enjoy specialty drinks and treats at the Moana-themed Cove Cafe!

©Disney

As we receive more details about these restaurants — and as Disney announces any new ones! — we’ll be sure to keep you in the loop.

Attractions

One of the biggest pieces of news we received about the Disney Wish was AquaMouse! This will be Disney’s first-ever attraction at sea, so it’s a HUGE deal. It’ll take guests straight into the world of animated Mickey Mouse shorts!

AquaMouse ©Disney

The water adventure will put guests in a 2-seater ride vehicle. Along the way, they’ll encounter sea creatures and other characters from the original story Scuba Scramble.

©Disney

Altogether, the ride winds through 760 feet of tubes. WOW is that impressive! You can read ALL the details on this exciting new ride right here.

Learn More About AquaMouse!

Just for Kids

A lot of those dining experiences we told ya about were just for grown-ups — but there are also activities just for kiddos! 3 kids’ clubs provide immersive experiences for all ages. In Disney’s Oceaneer Club, little ones ages 3-12 can visit the Marvel Super Hero Academy to make their own supersuit and train for greatness…

©Disney

…visit Fairytale Hall to read with Belle or do art with Rapunzel…

©Disney

…or visit the Imagineering Lab to design their own rollercoaster!

©Disney

Meanwhile, It’s a Small World Nursery offers babysitting services for ages 6 months to 3 years. Tots can play games, make crafts, read books, and more!

Edge and Vibe are older-kid hangouts with counselor-led activities. Edge is for those ages 11-14, while Vibe is for teens 14-17.

©Disney

These kids’ clubs sound AWESOME, and we kinda wish we were young enough to experience them. BRB, researching a way to go back in time.

Entertainment

What’s a Disney cruise without some entertainment?! Luckily, there’s plenty of that onboard, too. The classic Walt Disney Theatre is returning to the Disney Wish, with a Fantasia-inspired design that will make you feel like you’re in an enchanted forest! It’s a massive 1,274-seat theater with 3 decks, along with orchestra and balcony seating.

©Disney

At this theatre, you’ll get to experience Disney’s Aladdin — A Musical Spectacular. We’ve seen this show on past ships, but it’ll be reimagined here! You’ll also be able to catch 2 NEW, original productions. Disney hasn’t specified more details on those yet, but we’ll let you know when they do!

©Disney

There will also be 2 movie theaters, the Wonderland Cinema (inspired by Alice and Wonderland) and the Never Land Cinema (inspired by Peter Pan). You’ll be able to watch classic films as well as new movies here!

The Grand Hall of the Disney Wish will transform into an environmental theater, with a space that shifts from day to night…

©Disney

…and it’ll also feature a balcony where you can greet characters from afar!

©Disney

The Luna event space has a daytime setting of family fun, before transforming into an “elegant evening venue for adult-exclusive entertainment.” It’s inspired by the Disney and Pixar short La Luna! At night, the celestial theme will really pop in the luxurious atmosphere. You’ll even get to spot different characters from the short!

©Disney | Pixar

The Hero Zone is perfect for active family time, alternating “between an elaborate family obstacle course and a free-play sports hub.”

©Disney

And lastly, there will be 10 pools and water play areas outside — including the Toy Story Splash Zone! That’ll feature the Slide-a-saurus Rex, the Trixie’s Falls wading pool, and a smoothie bar called Wheezy’s Freezies.

©Disney

Near AquaMouse, there will also be a Mickey and friends-themed pool district, with six pools and Funnel Vision. Funnel Vision is a giant TV display that’ll screen Disney movies, live TV, and more!

We’ll keep our eyes peeled for more details on all these spaces.

Learn More About All that Entertainment!

Characters

Of course, you’ll be able to meet plenty of Disney characters on board!

©Disney

So far, Disney has announced that you can hang out with Mickey and Minnie; Elsa, Anna, Kristoff and Olaf from Frozen; super heroes Spider-Man, Black Panther, Ant-Man, and The Wasp; Rapunzel and Belle, and the Fairy Godmother!

©Disney

Phew, that’s a lot of characters! There will be designated spaces around the ship for photo ops. You’ll also be able to rub shoulders with some of these characters through various experiences, like the Marvel Super Hero Academy!

Learn More About These Character Experiences!

Rooms

The Disney Wish will feature 1,254 staterooms! Of those, most will offer an ocean view, and 70% will have a spacious veranda. The rooms will have 3 different themes: Fairytales and Castle, Forest and Animals, and Enchanted by the Sea!

©Disney

There will also be 76 total concierge staterooms and suites, and four royal suites. Two of those royal suites are 2 stories, featuring an elegant spiral staircase and a two-deck-high stained-glass frieze!

Disney Wish Staterooms Are a Luxurious Space to Dream

The Disney Wish has updated so many spaces and one space that will see an update are the staterooms. Every stateroom on the Disney Wish will be a luxurious, peaceful retreat designed with families in mind. And each will feature beautiful artwork depicting beloved Disney fairytales that have been created especially for the Disney Wish.

New for the Disney Wish, every stateroom will feature soft, dreamlike worlds and restful imagery of enchanted Disney fairytales through glittering gold-leafed headboard murals and framed pieces commissioned exclusively for the Disney Wish. In line with the ship’s overall design motif, stateroom artwork will represent classic and contemporary Disney stories, such as Cinderella.

Other details include delicate linen embroidery inspired by the fleet’s signature golden filigree. This even extends into the corridors, where you’ll find richly themed carpeting, softly colored accent walls, magical lighting and unique adornments.

©Disney

Every stateroom aboard the Disney Wish has been designed with ample room for families. There will be plenty of storage space and upscale amenities. Most of the ship’s 1,254 staterooms will offer an ocean view, including 877 that will include  a spacious verandah. Keeping families in mind, there will be 451 connecting doors that adjoin rooms to accommodate larger families. Some connecting staterooms will have a partition between verandahs that may even be opened to create a bigger, shared balcony.

Most staterooms will feature Disney Cruise Line’s signature split-bathroom concept. This includes a sink and shower in one room and a sink and toilet in a separate room. All will include a bathtub.

Disney Wish

Enhanced storage options will include roomy closets and elevated bed frames with generous under-bed space. These spots are perfect to provide plenty of places to store suitcases and other bulky items. Little ones will find a secret starfield hidden above pull-down beds, with a constellation of Fairy Godmother overhead. Other amenities will include a 43-inch TV, USB and USB-C ports, large vanity, mini drawer refrigerator, full-length mirror, mini safe, hair dryer, privacy divider, queen and pull-out sofa beds, deluxe toiletries, plush robes, and lavish bed linens and duvets.

Concierge Staterooms, Suites and Service

The Disney Wish will elevate the concierge experience with 76 concierge staterooms and suites. That is more than double the number available on other Disney ships.

These concierge rooms will accommodate up to five guests. They will feature spacious living areas, king beds, luxurious finishes and premium amenities. Most will include a private verandah, and most have been designed with the rich color palette and distinctive iconography of the film Tangled.

One-bedroom concierge suites will have a separate living room, walk-in closets, two 43-inch TVs and two bathrooms (including a master bathroom with rain shower, bathtub and double vanity).

Seven exclusive oceanview rooms are Disney’s first-ever staterooms located above the bridge. These will have extended living areas with breathtaking views of the ocean through floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the bow.

Disney Wish

The Disney Wish will also debut four royal suites that celebrate Sleeping Beauty. There will be two Princess Aurora Royal Suites and two Briar Rose Royal Suites. Each pair includes a single-floor option and a two-story configuration, the first of their kind for the Disney fleet. Royal suites will feature extravagant details, upscale furnishings and first-class amenities, including an extensive living area, open dining salon, sizeable pantry and private hot tub on the oversized verandah. Each suite has two master bedrooms, each with its own opulent bathroom featuring a double vanity and either a rain shower or bathtub. There will also be a double sleeper sofa in the living room and a third bathroom with a shower.

Disney Wish

The two-story royal suites will boast floor-to-ceiling windows and stunning statement pieces, like an elegant spiral staircase and a spectacular two-deck-high bespoke stained-glass frieze.

All concierge guests will receive a premium level of dedicated service and access to exclusive areas and amenities throughout their voyage. The Concierge Lounge will be more than triple the size from previous Disney ships and will offer a full bar, delicious light bites, special kids’ area and an outdoor terrace. From the lounge, concierge Guests will have access to a private sun deck with two whirlpools, a wading pool, a bar, lush lounge furniture and the superlative service of a pool deck host.

The Disney Wish will set sail on her maiden voyage on June 9, 2022 and bookings open to the general public on May 27, 2021.

PHOTOS: New Signage for BIG On Ride Photo Update in Disney World

Disney World has definitely had some high-tech updates lately.

Disney World’s NEW MagicMobile app makes your phone a MagicBand! ©Disney

With complimentary MagicBands discontinued, guests were able to instead welcome the use of smartphones as your pass to get around Disney World. Park ticket, room key, mobile payment, ride photos — you name it! Your phone can do a lot with MagicMobile, and now we’re seeing more signs of this change in the parks.

One feature of the new MagicMobile Pass, available on both Apple and Android devices, is the ability to enable automatic ride photo linking. When enabled, you can leave your phone in your pocket (with Bluetooth on) and your ride photos will automatically be linked to your My Disney Experience account.

©Disney

Today, we noticed that signs have started to pop up around the parks to instruct guests in the process of enabling the ride photo feature. The first one we spotted was over by the queue of Haunted Mansion.

MagicMobile Instructions

When you scan the QR code, the PhotoPass instructions page pops up. Tap the button to download or open the My Disney Experience app and follow the instructions. You’ll be asked to enable Bluetooth during the process.

PhotoPass Page

Then, your ride photos should automatically link at eligible attractions! We spotted a similar sign over by Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. Keep in mind, though, some attractions are not yet equipped with this feature. For instance, you still need to tap to snag your picture at the end of Splash Mountain.

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

We’ll keep an eye out for more signs so stay tuned to DFB for all the updates!
