Please Don’t Say These Three Things in Disney World

Most guests who visit Disney World are pretty well-informed and come prepared, and if you’re reading this, you’ve probably already seen many of our tips and tricks on how to make your Disney World vacation less stressful and more magical!

Hey, Donald!!!

And we’re coming in hot now with a few tips of things you should NEVER say at Disney World, and trust us — these may seem like no-brainers to you, but we’ve totally heard these at the parks! So pay attention!

Which Way to Harry Potter World?

Okay, so you think everyone would know that the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is at Universal Studios and NOT at Disney World, but they don’t! 🤯 It’s like there’s a disconnect when it comes to Orlando-area theme parks and some guests believe that Disney World really DOES own everything and has sucked in Universal Orlando attractions, too.

THIS is not Disney World

Yes, we’ve HEARD THIS! So we’re giving you a heads up — you will not find anything Harry Potter at Disney World. So keep that in mind before you ask the one question that might just make Cast Members roll their eyes. You’ll have to buy separate tickets and make your way over to Universal if you’re looking to head to Hogwarts or if you wanna chug endless amounts of Butterbeer.

We’ll Just Find a Place to Eat When We Get Hungry

Oh, you poor innocent souls who think you can just go to Disney World and eat when and where you want when the mood strikes you. If only it worked that way…right?! Even with limited capacity, that’s not the case, and that’s actually made it MORE difficult to find a place to eat quickly. Disney World’s table service restaurants also have limited capacity right now, and without Advance Dining Reservations (which we HIGHLY recommend), you’re probably out of luck.

Want to eat here? You better make an Advance Dining Reservation!

Although the Mobile Dine Walk-Up Waitlist has made it a little easier to get seating at the popular restaurants — you’ll still find yourself waiting for a while and getting hungrier by the minute.

There are often long lines for many Counter/Quick Service Service Restaurants, too, so those also require some planning in advance. Even those spots with Mobile Order are going to have a wait (and with SO MANY requiring mobile order, if you’re eating at popular times, you could wait up to an hour or more for your food!).

The best way to get around this is to eat earlier or later than folks normally do and to make sure that you are planning when and where you wanna eat in advance. When it comes to Mobile Order, you can set the time you’d like to pick up your food, so if you’re worried about waiting, you may want to order your lunch or dinner early in the day to pick up later.

Let’s Go Get In Line For Rise of The Resistance

Oh, my — this one is…well, sadly it’s not the case. And those who do not heavily research and plan their Disney World trips in advance may have no idea that they can’t just jump in line for the newest ride in the parks. So here’s the deal — you can’t just go get in line for Rise of the Resistance at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. You must have a boarding pass (which is pretty much your ticket to ride) to even THINK about getting in the line, and those can be difficult to obtain.

But basically, you’ll have to get on the My Disney Experience app at two specific times during the day (7AM and 1PM) and try to nab those passes (and we’ve got some great tips to help you do that here). But there is SOME good news — you no longer have to physically be in Hollywood Studios to try and collect the first group of boarding passes for the day at 7AM (you do for the 1PM drop).

Don’t let them know you’re with the Resistance!

Then, if you are able to snag a boarding group (which tends to fill up in seconds), you and your party will be called to ride the attraction at a certain time. Getting on this attraction is really about both knowledge and luck. You have to know how to get a boarding group, when, and where. We have all the tips to make sure you can do this as simply and easily as possible!

Obviously, this ride is not like other Disney rides, which you can just jump in line for — remember that if you want to make this a part of your next Disney World experience.

So if you’re heading to Disney World, remember to never say these three things while you’re there. We’re trying to prepare you so you have the best trip possible, so stay tuned for more of our tips, tricks, and hacks!
