REVIEW: Bring LOTS of Napkins If You Try Disney World’s New S’mores Treat

We’ve had our fair share of sweets and treats around Disney World lately, and today we’re heading over to Disney’s Wilderness Lodge for something a little different.

This lobby gets us every time.

Wilderness Lodge has already given us some unique eats this week like some Mickey scrambled eggs, but today we’re having a new treat that fits right in its outdoorsy wheelhouse — it’s time for some s’mores!

That’s right, there’s a new s’more in town, but it’s looking a little fancier than one might expect.

Well it LOOKS promising

The Roaring S’more is a graham cracker cake, marshmallow center, and chocolate mousse topped with caramel marshmallow. It’s decorated with a chocolate Mickey decoration, and of course — there are crispy pearls because is it even a Disney dessert without some of those?

That’s one toasty marshmallow!

The first surprise with this dessert is that the marshmallow layer is actually hollow, and the crispy pearls came pouring out of it! The pearls are chocolate and caramel flavor but gave the treat a super salty flavor overall.

It does look good on the ‘gram tho!

We know there’s already a lot of s’mores treats in Disney, so how did this one stack up? First off, it’s MESSY. If you’re ordering this one, be prepared: there weren’t plates when we ordered at Roaring Fork, so you might need to plan ahead.

Photogenic, but at what cost?

Overall, we feel like this dessert had a LOT going on. Here’s a closer look at all. those. layers.👇

The chocolate mousse had a good flavor and was nice and light, but the marshmallow layer was overpowered by the saltiness of the chocolate caramel pearls. The cake was our least favorite part because it was bland, and didn’t have much taste beyond graham cracker.

Another look at those layers

The caramel marshmallow on top was the superior marshmallow on this treat, and while it was overall a cute concept, we’d probably rather just eat a regular old s’more!

Sneaky sneaky

If you happen to be staying at the Wilderness Lodge, it might be worth a try, but we don’t think it’s worth a special trip unless you’re a HUGE fan of chocolate and marshmallow. If you’d like to try the new Roaring S’mores yourself, you can snag it at the Roaring Fork in Wilderness Lodge for $5.79!
