The 5 Things I Miss Most at Walt Disney World

I have been fortunate enough to visit Walt Disney World several times since it reopened last summer. I am so thankful that much of Disney World is open for public enjoyment during such a crazy time in the world. That being said, there are several experiences that have yet to reopen.

Fireworks, parades, stage shows, and character meet and greets are greatly missed around the parks. There are several other experiences that I miss tremendously. Here are 5 things at Walt Disney World that I am most looking forward to returning:

Disney’s Port Orleans Resort

This is by far my favorite moderate resort on Disney World property. I absolutely adore the atmosphere at both Riverside and French Quarter. Both are beautiful properties. I especially miss the dining options available at French Quarter. The shrimp and grits is one of my favorites! At the time of writing, there has been no reopening date announced for Port Orleans, but as soon as it reopens I will be booking a stay there!

The Epcot Monorail

Now that park hopping has returned after 2 pm, I really miss having access to the Epcot monorail. It made hopping between the Magic Kingdom and Epcot much more convenient and fun. I always enjoyed riding the monorail to Epcot and getting to see the park and construction progress from above. I look forward to having this experience again!

Disney Parking Lot Trams

As the old saying goes, you don’t know what you have until it’s gone, and that is the truth for Disney life without parking lot trams. After an exhausting day walking thousands of steps around the park, having to walk even more steps back to your car at the end of the day isn’t exactly pleasant, especially if you are one of the unlucky folks parked in the very farthest parking lot! Now that warmer weather is here, walking to and from the parking lot in the heat is also pretty unpleasant. This is a convenience I miss tremendously and can’t wait to have back again!

Buffets

As controversial as they can be, I really enjoy a good Disney World buffet. My personal favorite buffets on property are Cape May Café for dinner and Chef Mickey’s for breakfast. Having limitless food options and being able to try different foods is an experience I really enjoy. I am hopeful buffets will return, but I am worried these will not return for a long time.

Must Do Disney

In the past, every single time I stayed at a Walt Disney World resort, I had to watch Must Do Disney with Stacey. Nothing starts off a Disney World vacation for me quite like watching Must Do Disney. At the time of writing, Must Do Disney is not being shown at the resorts, although the channel is still called Must Do Disney. While it definitely is in need of some updates, I can’t wait for the return of Must Do Disney or whatever new updated show replaces it.

What experiences are you most looking forward to returning at Walt Disney World?
