The never-ending construction continues throughout Disney World! Seriously, could there be any more construction walls up?
We have updates on ongoing (and going…and going…) projects, as well as a few new ones! Let’s dive right in.
Magic Kingdom
Cinderella Castle Stage
We’ve been reporting on the MANY updates to Cinderella Castle in preparation for the 50th anniversary celebration later this year! We’ve watched construction on the castle stage evolve, from wooden planks…
…to metal slats…
…and this week, to a solid surface! About half of the stage is covered with wooden boards now.
Does this mean the castle stage saga is almost complete? We’ve been tracking the progress for a while now, and will continue to report on any updates!

Cool Ship
Last week, we noticed that Cool Ship, a temporarily closed snack stand in Tomorrowland, had some construction walls surrounding it.
Now, we know what those construction walls were all about: Cool Ship spruced up its look with a new paint job!
The colors are a lot more vibrant and fresh, and we think the pops of color really liven this spot up. Could we be seeing the triumphant return of Cool Ship in the near future? Guess we’ll have to wait and see!
We’ll keep an eye out for any additional progress at Cool Ship, as well as other spots in Magic Kingdom that are getting a little extra love prior to the 50th celebrations!

EPCOT
Future World
Construction crews were seen actively working in Future World during one of our recent trips to EPCOT.
It was announced this week that Club Cool would be making a comeback later this year (!!), AND that Mouse Gear would be replaced with a new store, so we’ll be following along closely to the updates made in this area. We can’t wait to see what it will look like when it’s finished!

Disney Resorts
Caribbean Beach Resort
When we stopped by Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort this weekend, we noticed some painting being done on the buildings that house the guest rooms.
Here, you can see the difference between what’s been newly painted and what hasn’t been.
Now, these buildings will look even more vibrant than they already do!
Contemporary Resort
The Polynesian isn’t the only Magic Kingdom-area resort going through some major changes! We previously reported that the Contemporary would undergo refurbishment in the Main Tower guest rooms starting in April. Normally, the inside of the Contemporary would look like this…
…but now it looks like this! This definitely isn’t its best look.
The construction scrims are covering several hallways on many floors on one side of the building — but, that’s not all.
There are also screens in place near the elevator landings.
To pair with the less-than-appealing view, the construction sounds can be heard throughout the hotel! Not exactly the relaxing vibe you may be looking for during a mid-day nap.
Cast Members have mentioned that construction could continue through September of this year, so keep that in mind if you are planning a trip to the Contemporary in the next few months!
Is it worth visiting Chef Mickey’s during the Contemporary construction? Find out here!
And that’s all the updates for now! Check back with us next week for even more construction updates from Disney World.
