Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park are set to reopen on April 30th, and for the first time we’ll get a look at rides that we haven’t been on or seen for OVER a year!

One ride that will be reopening at Disneyland on April 30th is The Haunted Mansion. The ride closed for refurbishment in early 2020, but we really didn’t know TOO much about what those refurbishments would include. Now, we’ve got photos, videos, and more information revealing just what’s changed at the Mansion! A new (but also old) portrait? New landscaping? And even new wallpaper? Check out what the ghosts have been up to!!

When Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion closed back in 2020, Disney shared that the work being done on the ride would include enhancements to the ride’s mechanics, interiors, and exteriors. Since then, Disney has also shared that “new magic is coming to Haunted Mansion.” But, other than that, we really didn’t have too many details about what was going on in this classic attraction…until now!

Recently, Disney shared a look at the changes that have been made at the Mansion. Looks like the ghosts have been watching some home improvement shows and getting a bit of inspiration! How very quarantine of them.

On the outside of the Mansion, Disney shares that guests will find that “freshly landscaped details now adorn the site for dearly departed pets, representing their stories from beyond the grave.”

Disney notes that there are even some new “tales of tragedy for our beloved companions.” We may usually see the ghosts all in white or gray, but it seems they’ve got quite the green thumb!

Inside the Mansion, a few things have also gotten some sprucing up! The spirits have installed some new drapes, carpet, and wallpaper.

And there’s even a NEW (but also old) portrait to admire. As Disney shares, “one of the Mansion’s original portraits known as ‘April to December’ once again graces the hallway.” You’ll definitely want to keep an eye out for this portrait to watch how it transforms right before your eyes.

Looks like the ghosts really want their next swinging wake to be extra special. We’re dying to hurry back to the Mansion and see what these new details all look like in person.
