If you’re making a visit to Walt Disney World for the Taste of EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival with a little one, there’s a place in the park that’s been created just for you and your child.
You might think that kids have it made in the shade on a trip to Walt Disney World; they get to ride on attraction after attraction, eat fun food, and sleep in fantastic resort rooms. What more could they want? Well, because they’re trucking all over the parks riding all sorts of attractions and waiting in potentially long lines, eating different food, and possibly not sleeping like they do at home, they may just need a little down time in the middle of a park day. Or just a little space to roam. Or a shady spot to simply sit for a few minutes. Or all three.
If your child (or your inner child) needs a spot to rest and relax or run some wiggles off, be sure to make a stop at the Health Full Trail. You’ll find the trail on the Rosewalk that leads from Future World to World Showcase. While playgrounds are currently closed due to the pandemic, the Health Full Trail offers kids and their parents the next best thing: a safe play area.
The trail features a large astroturf-covered area that sports colorful shapes and designs. This area is perfect for letting little ones just run around a bit; something you may not want them doing in the middle of the World Showcase.
In the center of the trail, guests will find a simple labyrinth made from colorful, shrub-filled planters. Older children will be able to learn a thing or two by stopping and reading the informational cards placed near each plant and shrub.
Adirondack chairs are available for the grown-ups in the group. While the kids are running off their wiggles, the adults can rest up just a bit. I love that the Imagineers who designed the space thought of the grown-ups, too.
Safety measures are being adhered to at the Health Full Trail, and all guests 2 years of age and up must wear an approved facial covering.
Will a stop by the trail be on your festival day to-do list?
