Disney World is continuing with its phased reopening.
Disney’s Beach Club Resort
We’ve seen restaurants and resorts reopen as Disney World slowly increases its limited operations. Recently, Blizzard Beach even reopened! But if you’ve been following the hotel reopening dates closely, you may be a little confused. Why are reopening dates listed for hotels that are already open?! Well today, we’re breaking it ALL down for ya.
Hotels such as Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, Disney’s Beach Club Resort, and Disney’s BoardWalk Inn are all listed as closed — but they’ve already reopened. That’s because they’re Disney Vacation Club resorts! Their initial reopening, which took place last summer, was for Disney Vacation Club (DVC) reservations only.

Currently, the villas at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, Disney’s Beach Club Resort, Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, and Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort are only open for DVC reservations. Select dining at these hotels is available, too, for anyone with a reservation.

So…what’s up with that second reopening? That’s when the hotels’ non-DVC rooms will become available! We’ve gotten those full reopening dates for Disney’s Beach Club Resort (May 30th), Disney’s Wilderness Lodge (June 6th), and Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort (July 2021 — with reservations being accepted July 19). We’re still waiting for an announcement on those other DVC hotels!

Other DVC resorts — like Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa — have already fully reopened for all reservation types. And of course, select non-DVC resorts are open, too! Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort just reopened, and others will follow suit (although Disney hasn’t announced dates just yet).
