Since Disneyland suspended their Annual Passholder program and introduced their new “Legacy Passholder” program, things have started to look and feel a little different than prior to the closures.
Since that transition began earlier this year, the Disneyland app was updated with a digital discount ticket for Legacy Passholders to redeem their extended perks, which include various discounts on shopping and dining.
A little over one week prior to Disneyland’s historic reopening on April 30th, Legacy Passholders may have noticed yet another update to the Disneyland app, specifically to their digital discount ticket. Disney has now assigned one of two discount categories — Legacy Passholder Discount A or Legacy Passholder Discount B — to everyone’s pass.
What does Discount A and Discount B mean, exactly? It looks like Disney is further differentiating what being a “Disneyland Annual Passholder” used to look like and what a “Legacy Passholder” looks like now. So, instead of having a “Disney Signature Annual Pass discount,” a guests will now have a “Legacy Passholder Discount A.”
In general, Legacy Passholder Discount A is a higher discount category than Legacy Passholder Discount B. If you’re looking for the latest souvenir, for example, you can expect a merchandise discount of 10% under Discount B, and 20% under Discount A. Certain locations may offer different discount amounts, especially at third party retailers in Downtown Disney.
Which discount do you have? Disney has assigned Legacy Passholder Discount A to former Disney Premier Passport, Disney Signature Plus and Disney Signature passholders, and Legacy Passholder Discount B to former Disney Deluxe, Disney Flex, Disney Southern California and Disney Southern California Select passholders.
At this time, Disneyland has yet to announce a new Membership program that will likely replace the Legacy Passholder program. We have shared in the past that the Legacy Passholder discounts will continue until Disneyland announces a new membership offering. So until that happens, Legacy Passholders can continue to redeem those discounts at the shopping and dining locations around the Disneyland Resort.
We’ll continue to keep an eye on Disneyland Legacy Passholder updates and we will let you know the moment we learn about what the new replacement Membership program looks like!
