Guys. Disney World just put a spin on an ICONIC Disneyland treat.
We’re gonna take a trip wayyy back to 2010 in Disneyland. That’s when the Matterhorn Macaroon arrived at Blue Ribbon Bakery! It quickly became a west coast staple — people (yup, including us) loved this little guy! In fact, we loved it so much that we figured out how to make it at home. And you can still enjoy the coconut-y, white chocolate goodness at Jolly Holiday Bakery! But Disney World just came out with its OWN version of the Matterhorn Macaroon…and we’ve gotta say, we’re impressed.
First of all, let’s refresh your memory. It’s the Matterhorn Macaroon! Now, keep that picture in the back of your head because we’re introducing…
…the Everest Base Camp Macaroon! This fella outshined the Matterhorn Macaroon with THREE mountain tops, made of chocolate and coconut macaroons. You’ll also get a “snowcap” of white chocolate and a flurry of snowflake sprinkles on a base of green tea chocolate crumbs.
Even when our beloved Matterhorn Macaroon was on a donut, we don’t think it looked THIS good. Although the color and texture is a little off-putting…if you know what we mean…we promise it tastes AMAZING.
The chocolate was the bomb. It was perfectly sweet and super flavorful! Both the white chocolate on the mountain tops and the milk chocolate on bottom were smooth and creamy.

Okay, now we’ve gotta talk about the portion size. This snack is $5.99, and you get a pretty hefty treat for that price! It’s also super shareable: split it between 3 people by giving each a mountain. Or, if you just couldn’t stop eating this like us, have it ALL to yourself.

Sorry, Matterhorn Macaroon. You just may be beat, because this new snack easily makes our top park treats list! You can find the Everest Base Camp Macaroon at Thirsty River Bar in Asia for $5.99. We’re happy to see Disney World’s own spin on this legend, and we’ll definitely be back to try it again! As always, stay tuned to DFB for more Disney news.
