We’re back to report on everything new at some of our favorite Disney resorts!
If you’re headed to a stay at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campgrounds, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, or Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, you’ll find a few new surprises!
Fort Wilderness Resort and Campgrounds
P&J’s Southern Takeout
On our latest visit to this counter-service location tucked next to Trail’s End Restaurant, we found a lot of new treats! The first were several new specialty coffees, including a Strawberry Shortcake Latte (with strawberry and vanilla), Campfire S’mores Latte, Gold Rush Latte (with vanilla and caramel), and the Wilderness Bark Latte (which is hazelnut and chocolate).
We tried the Wilderness Bark, and while it was a bit sweet, it was delicious! It basically tasted like Nutella (and who would complain about drinking Nutella??).
We recently reported on one of the BEST cupcakes at Disney World we found at P&J’s!
The current specialty Carrot Cake cupcake has a spiced carrot cake, cream cheese filling, buttercream icing, and a drizzle of caramel. Who wouldn’t want to eat up all that oozing caramel?? We could not get enough!
We also found a new, and slightly confusing, treat: a Pineapple Upside Down Cake Push Pop!
For $4.99, you’ll get layers of yellow cake, pastry cream, and caramelized pineapple, topped with whipped cream and a cherry! While this treat was delicious, and very Instagrammable, it was a bit of a struggle to eat! Still, we highly recommend!
A DFB favorite, the Turtle Brownie, is back at P&J’s as well!
This brownie has a layer of dense, chocolatey brownie and is topped with SUPER thick caramel! We love the rotation of delicious treats at P&J’s!
Who wouldn’t want to try this Margarita Cupcake ??
Meadow Swimmin’ Pool
We strolled over to the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool after noshing on all of our treats, and found that the water slide was under construction!
They were redoing the stairs and platform, but guests were still enjoying the pool around the construction walls. Fences are becoming a normal occurance based on all of the construction we’re seeing recently!
And that’s everything from Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campgrounds!
Check out which Disney World Pool Bar is continuing its winning streak of delicious drinks!
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
Uzima Springs Pool
Fort Wilderness wasn’t the only pool having some work done! On our latest visit to Animal Kingdom Lodge we saw that the water slide at the Uzima Springs Pool was getting some TLC.
Don’t worry, you can still enjoy the rest of the pool area! Make sure you grab a Nyala brownie while you soak up some sun.
A DFB Must-Try Brownie is Finally Back in Disney World
General Updates
One of the best parts of visiting Animal Kingdom Lodge is seeing all of the animals roaming around!
A portion of the upper viewing area was blocked off on our visit, due to the flamingos that were nesting!
We were still able to sneak a peek at the flamingos from the pool area. Flock to this spot to get a great view!
That’s everything new from Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge!

Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort
Rix Sports Bar and Grill
On our latest visit to Disney’s Coronado Springs, we stopped by Rix Sports Bar and Grill and made the very smart choice to order a dessert off of the kid’s menu!
This new fun dessert has Cotton Candy-flavored Blue and Pink Swirled Cheesecake with a Graham Cracker Crust. It comes topped with thick Whipped Cream Cheese, Strawberry Syrup, Berries (including a Strawberry and Blueberry) and garnished with a piece of Fluffy Cotton Candy!
There was no mistaking that this was a cotton candy dessert (it tasted like straight up ballpark cotton candy), but it was so good! Paired with the strawberry garnish, it was the perfect bite!
You are never too old to order off the kids’ menu!
Here’s our full review of the Cotton Candy Cheesecake
Those are all the updates we have from the Disney World resorts! We’ll be back next week with even more updates from the resorts that we visit, so stay tuned to DFB for more from the resorts!
