Welcome back, DFB friends! We’re here with another What’s New at Disney’s Hollywood Studios!
And, we’ve got plenty of updates to share with you today! So, what are you waiting for? Let’s dive right on in!
Disney’s Hollywood Studios Merchandise Update
Once Upon a Time
Anybody else basically have an army of Wishables at home? We’ve been stocking up on the adorable plushes whenever they make their way into the parks and online. And, recently, the newest set of characters to fly into Disney World are the Guardians of the Galaxy Wishables!
Along with the Rocket Wishable you can find on his own, the mystery pack features a surprise choice of Star-Lord, Drax, Gamora, or Groot for the Marvel fans out there!
You can score the Guardians of the Galaxy Wishables for $9.99 each at Once Upon a Time. And, we can’t blame you if you want to collect them all!

Disney’s Hollywood Studios Construction Update
Legends of Hollywood
While a BUNCH of new projects are in the works in Disney World, sometimes things just need a little sprucing up. And, when we stopped by Disney’s Hollywood Studios, we noticed that the sidewalk in front of the Legends of Hollywood was looking extra fresh as a new coat of paint helped make the storefront POP!
But, that wasn’t the only new piece of construction in the park!
Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway
Over at Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, a new sign hung over the area where guests join the stand-by queue for the attraction. The yellow sign’s letters gave us some vibes from the Great Movie Ride’s font that was previously used, making our hearts happy for the mini blast from the past!
After stopping by the runaway train, we noticed another attraction (that hasn’t reopened yet) even gotten a makeover!
Fantasmic
The Fantasmic entrance has been used as a spillover line for people visiting rides like Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster and the Tower of Terror. But, we noticed that the banners along the area were more vibrant, likely meaning they had replaced the older faded ones.
We might not be able to watch Fantasmic in person right now, but we can still admire how adorable the character posters featuring Mickey…
…Jafar…
…Pocahontas…
…and the Beast!
(We totally miss Fantasmic more now, though.)
Disney’s Hollywood Studios Entertainment Update
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
Vi Moradi and Chewbacca decided to have a change of pace during our visit to Disney’s Hollywood Studios by positioning themselves on the lower level of the character greeting structure! Vi maybe even gave us some clues into the next Rebel mission. But, you didn’t hear it from us!
The biggest change, though, we noticed recently was in regards to the actual PHOTO taking in the parks!
Health and Safety Guidelines
It’s been a year of similar health and safety protocols with only a few changes here and there. But, this week, Disney World instituted a MASSIVE switch by allowing guests to take off their masks for a brief time during photo-ops.
Guests must remain stationary and appropriately distanced from other parties when they are taking their photos.
After you are in place for a PhotoPass photo, you may remove your mask, stay in place, and then put it back on after the pictures have been taken.
Trash cans around Disney World used to have the notice that masks have to be worn even when taking photos, but they have since been removed and replaced.
There are still signs notifying guests who fail to wear their masks properly will then be asked to leave.
And signs stating that guests need to be stationary and distanced while they are eating or drinking remain.
As more changes make their way into the parks, we’ll be sure to update you before you head to Disney World!

Disney’s Hollywood Studios Crowd Update
Crowds
Crowds in the parks were lower than we’ve seen the past two weeks, even though the Disney Park Pass calendar has listed the parks as full for most of April.
The crowds did get a bit busier at peak times of the day over at popular attractions…
…so there is a flex of crowds throughout the week, depending on when you’re in the park.
Wait Times
The wait times saw a few high queues where lines were longer, including 55 minutes at Tower of Terror…
…40 minutes at Alien Swirling Saucers…
…Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy…
…60 minutes at Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster…
…30 minutes Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway…
…80 minutes at Slinky Dog Dash…
…30 minutes at Star Tours…
…30 minutes at Muppet Vision 3D.
