What’s New in Disney’s Animal Kingdom: A Grab-and-Go Breakfast Option and a SCARY Souvenirs

We love spending a day in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

We’re at Animal Kingdom again!

You know we’ve made a few visits to Disney World’s wildest park over the past few days and that means we’ve noticed some CHANGES! So, we’re checking in with an update on everything new in food, construction, and merchandise.

Animal Kingdom Food Updates

Flame Tree Barbecue

We noticed that Flame Tree Barbecue had its opening time listed a little bit earlier than usual on the My Disney Experience app. It was listed as opening at 10:15AM.

Joffrey’s Cart

The Joffrey’s Coffee and Tea Cart right near the entrance of Animal Kingdom had a Spinach and Cheese Croissant available. This pastry isn’t new to Joffrey’s but we wanted to give it an updated try.

Think the Florida Sun Will Toast It Up?

This was a pretty good pastry and a GREAT option if you’re looking for a savory, grab-and-go option in the morning.

Restaurantosaurus

Restaurantosaurus had a surprising and hard-to-spot change when we visited. Notice anything different about the sign above the restaurant?

Do you like the new addition?

Yep, that Impossible burger sign is new!

Animal Kingdom Construction Updates

Various Locations

Two new digital screens have been added to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, one by the bridge between Asia and Dinoland and another near Pizzafari headed towards Pandora.

Screen in Asia

Right now, the screens show health and safety messaging but they may have wait times in the future.

Oasis

The bridge in Oasis near the waterfall has reopened from a brief closure!

Asia

If you’ve been to Animal Kingdom, you’ve probably stood and watched the gibbons hang out or play around in Asia.

Gibbons!

Well during one of our visits, the Gibbons were being QUITE noisy. There must have been some serious monkey business to talk about — or should we say ape business since Gibbons are actually apes?

Animal Kingdom Merchandise Updates

Discovery Trading Co.

Now, on to the merchandise updates! We spotted a Cast Member removing the paper from inside the Native shoes. We’re not sure why!

Riverside Depot

Over at Riverside Depot, there were new Loungefly Card ID Holders for $20 each. There’s one with Mickey’s face…

…and one that’s more ear-centric.

African Carving Kiosk

And the African Carving Kiosk got our attention too. These souvenirs aren’t new but we got stuck wondering if they’re the coolest or the CREEPIEST souvenirs in Disney World!

African Carved Walking Stick

What do you think of the Carved African Walking Sticks?
