Disney Celebrates Halfway to Halloween with Special Spooky Treats

This month, Disney is bringing a hint of one of its best-celebrated holidays to us early. In an announcement on Disney Parks Blog today, we learned that three limited-time treats will be available to celebrate Halfway to Halloween, along with four unique recipes inspired by Disney parks and films.

Black Tap Pumpkin Pie

Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes at Downtown Disney District

You can visit Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes this weekend to find their Classic Pumpkin Pie Shake. This shake is Black Tap’s take on fall flavors topped with whipped cream, graham cracker crumbles, and a cherry (available May 7-9).

Gideon Hand Pies

Gideon’s Bakehouse at Disney Springs

If you’re like me and adore Gideon’s Bakehouse, you may want to wake up early next week and head to Disney Springs. Gideon’s will be offering a uniquely “disguised” version of its most beloved cookie. For three short days, you can experience a Gideon’s Hand Pie- a handmade Gideon’s chocolate chip cookie baked inside a flaky and buttery crust (available May 10-12 while supplies last; limit two per person).

Ganachery Cauldron Cocoa Bomb

The Ganachery at Disney Springs

When you’re finished snagging your Gideon’s hand pie, you can head over to The Ganachery for their Cauldron Cocoa Bomb. Hocus Pocus lovers will enjoy this dark chocolate cauldron is filled with hot cocoa mix and green marshmallows topped with an edible image of the Sanderson Sisters and a chocolate broom stirrer. However, there is a trick to getting this photo-worthy treat. You’ll need to check @disneyparks on TikTok throughout Saturday, May 8, to learn the secret, scary phrase to order (available May 10-12 while supplies last; limit two per person).

In addition to the spooky snacks, Disney has released four festive recipes you can make at home to celebrate Halfway to Halloween.

Our first two snacks come from the soon-to-be-released Disney Villains: Devilishly Delicious Cookbook, which is available for pre-order.

Deviled Eggs

The Underworld Smoothie recipe is inspired by the animated feature film, Hercules. This frosty treat plays off of Hades’ two moods: the calm blue flames and angry red flames of his hair. Both flavors are mixed separately, then poured together to make one fun drink. Click here for a print-at-home version of this recipe. The Deviled Dragon Eggs will take a little extra time to prepare, but the results will be a creation even Maleficent would love. Click here for a print-at-home version of this recipe.

Jolly Holiday

This Pumpkin Muffin recipe comes from the recipe vault at Disneyland Park. You might recognize it from past Halloween Time celebrations at Jolly Holiday Bakery Café. These beautiful muffins get a sprinkle of streusel on top and are the perfect fall treat for pumpkin lovers. Click here for a print-at-home version of this recipe.

Apple Crumble Tart

Last but not least, this  Apple Crumble Tart is an exclusive recipe for Disney Parks Blog readers and an exciting preview for the upcoming EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival (starting Jul. 15 and running through Nov. 20). It’s difficult not to crave this adorable little apple pie covered in a crumble topping. Click here for a print-at-home version of this recipe.

While Halloween this year might not be the same as in past years, Disney is making an effort to build excitement and celebrate this exciting autumn holiday. These limited-edition snacks are a cute and creative way to build anticipation as we get halfway closer to fall. It will be interesting to see what treats Disney has in store for us this Halloween. One thing is for sure – I can’t wait until the day those Mickey pumpkins grace Main Street once again!
