Many individuals throughout the United States are now eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
We’ve seen Disney World offer to provide its Cast Members with a payment if they receive a vaccine, and Port Canaveral in Florida is now offering COVID-19 vaccines to cruise ship crews. Now we’ve got news about a vaccine effort taking place over in Disneyland.
According to the Orange County Register, Disneyland will soon be offering COVID-19 vaccinations more than 15,000 Cast Members. These vaccinations will be distributed at 2 onsite locations. Specifically, there will be a vaccination distribution area at the Disneyland Hotel and another at a backstage pharmacy.
Pam Hymel, the Chief Medical Officer of the Disney parks stated, “This convenient option for cast members and their families to get the vaccine gives us more hope and optimism as we continue our efforts to fight COVID-19 in our community.”
Who will be eligible to get the vaccine? It depends on where you go.
Active and furloughed Disneyland Cast Members and their family members can get either the Pfizer or Johnson & Johnson vaccine starting on May 13th at the Disneyland Hotel location.
Vaccines will continue to be eligible there through May and June. The vaccination center at the Disneyland Hotel is actually being done in partnership with the Orange County Health Care Agency. That Disneyland Hotel vaccination center will only be open to Disneyland Cast Members and their families. Reservations are available through the Othena vaccine distribution system.
In terms of Disneyland’s backstage Pharmacy for Living Well, single-shot Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccinations will be available there beginning May 10th to active Cast Members only.
They’ll be available there through May, and vaccine appointments for that location can be made through the Disney Hub Cast Member website.
We’ll continue to keep an eye out for more updates and let you know what we find.
