Disneyland Resort is open again, but some things are different at the parks due to the ongoing pandemic.
One of the differences is that trams are not currently running between the Mickey and Friends parking structure and the main park gates of the Disneyland Resort. Guests have to walk from where they leave their vehicles to the entrance of the parks, and it can be a bit of a hike! For guests that need extra assistance such as a wheelchair or scooter, one of the locations to rent these devices has changed!
You can now rent wheelchairs, electric convenience vehicles (scooters) and strollers on the bottom level of the Pixar Pals parking structure!
The parking structure location is way more convenient if you’re parked in the garage, as you don’t have to walk alllll the way to the entrance of the parks to get the device you need!
The Mickey & Friends rental area can be found inside of the parking structure by following the various signs pointing you in the right direction. You’ll come across the rental area before you go through security on the right hand side as you enter the parking structure.
If you do not park in Mickey and Friends and instead enter security via Harbor Boulevard, the normal Stroller Shop rental spot next to the Disneyland gates is still open as well.
Keep in mind that the Mickey & Friends rental location is only temporary, as it’s available right now while the trams aren’t running! A Cast Member told us that if the trams start running again, the rental location in the parking structure will likely close and guests will instead ride the tram to the esplanade and rent their device at the Stroller Station by the Disneyland gates, as they did prior to the closures.
In the meantime, devices can be picked up and dropped off at either location!
Both locations open 1 hour before the parks open, which should give you plenty of time to get the device that you need to have a great day at Disneyland or Disney’s California Adventure! However, the earlier you get to the rental stations the better, as ECVs tend to run out early, especially in the summer!
Here’s a look at the current pricing.
Once you rent the wheelchair or scooter, you can head on over to guest relations to find out which rides you can access using the exit, standby, or which attractions you will need a return time for. A Cast Member told us that most of the queues for attractions at California Adventure ARE wheelchair accessible, but in Disneyland, it depends a bit more, so make sure you find out before going into the park!
Having both of these rental locations should make it a whole lot more convenient for guests to grab a scooter, wheelchair, or stroller before heading into the parks for the day if you end up hiking from Mickey & Friends!
