Disneyland has started to reopen more dining locations since the parks first reopened in late April. Today, Blue Bayou Restaurant in Disneyland Park’s New Orleans Square is welcoming guests back for the first time since the closures first began in March of 2020!
Not only that, but for the first time ever, Blue Bayou is serving alcoholic beverages! We visited this afternoon to check everything out. And now we’re sharing a first look at this newly reopened spot with you!!
Seating
When we arrived this afternoon at Blue Bayou, we checked in for our reservation on the Disneyland app. Blue Bayou is an indoor table service restaurant, known for its views of the boats from Pirates of the Caribbean floating by.
When we got there, the Cast Member told us they were only seating around 11 tables right now and nearly all of them along the water.
Hello beautiful views!
Menu
To get a look at the menu for Blue Bayou, you’ll scan the QR code on the coaster.
The menu here includes Blue Bayou’s Signature Gumbo, salad, and a number of entrees including the classic Monte Cristo Sandwich.
There are also some dessert options and a kids’ menu.
For today’s meal we got QUITE the spread. First up, the Signature Gumbo featuring Chicken, Andouille Sausage, Tomatoes, Okra, Jasmine Rice, Green Onions. This item is priced at $7.
Next, we HAD to grab the classic Monte Cristo Sandwich to see how it compared to the other ones we’ve had since Disneyland reopened. The Monte Cristo is made with Turkey, Ham, and Swiss, served with Crème Anglaise, Seasonal Preserve and Seasonal Fruit and is priced at $29.
But wait, there’s more! We also grabbed the Jambalaya, which features Jumbo Shrimp, Andouille Sausage, Chicken, Tasso Ham, Creole Rice, Spiced Tomato Jus. This item is priced at $36.
And we HAD to leave room for dessert too. This is the Sparkling Wine Celebration Finale which comes with two glasses of Le Grand Courtâge Grand Cuvée Blanc de Blancs Brut, served with a Crème Brûlée Duo of Vanilla Bourbon and Café Au Lait with Chocolate-dipped Madeleines. It also includes exclusive Blue Bayou Macarons – Bananas Foster, Signature Hurricane, and Pecan Praline, all for $65.
The biggest change to the menu at Blue Bayou since reopening is the addition of alcoholic beverages. Disneyland had long been known as a “dry park” (with the exception of its exclusive Club 33), but that all changed in 2019 when Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opened and adult drinks were served at Oga’s Cantina. Now, we can add Blue Bayou to the list of dining locations in the park that serve alcohol!
For our trip today we grabbed the Hurricane Cocktail. This drink features Bacardi Reserva Ocho Rum, Myers’s Original Dark Rum, Simply® Orange Juice, Passion Fruit Purée, Grenadine and Lime Juice, Luxardo Maraschino Cherry and Orange garnish. It’s priced at $15.00.
We’ll be bringing you our full review soon so stay tuned for that.
We have even more restaurants to look forward to visiting soon at Disneyland too and we’ll keep you informed all on the latest Disney news!
