NEWS: Masks No Longer Required For Vaccinated Moviegoers at AMC and Other Theaters

As more people get vaccinated against COVID-19, the health and safety guidelines regarding masks continue to change, both at Disney World and across the U.S.

And as these guidelines change, we’ll be seeing more updates from other businesses as they begin to loosen those guidelines in their own establishments.

Most recently, The Orlando Sentinel reported that AMC, Regal, and Cinemark movie theaters will no longer require masks for fully-vaccinated moviegoers. Masks, however, will be “strongly encouraged” for non-vaccinated customers, although they can remove their masks when eating and drinking inside the theater.

All three companies will still require employees at their theaters to wear face masks. These chains also have plans to continue to enforce other safety guidelines, like reduced capacity, social distancing, and enhanced sanitization.

State and local guidelines, though, could override these new policies, depending on where theaters are located. So those considering going to the theaters without masks should check local guidelines first.

As always, we’ll continue to monitor these changes and keep you updated.
